2C-E: One Dead and ten hospitalized.

I just don't buy it I mean shit, you have to have someone who feels it burn, nobody snorts huge lines of this at once and if they do, they most likely throw up and are noticeably experiencing abnormal symptoms. This had to be something else unless they were drinking or doing something else that lapsed their judgement.

I wish these could all just be legalized and mildly regulated and made to be big profit generators so that everyone would be happy.

According to the articles they were drinking, and dropping doses in their drinks on top of snorting lines.

Wrong. Intent for "Human consumption" HAS been ruled a required condition for analogue scheduled status. But not by the supreme court, though the ruling was never challenged... probably why it is only rarely used anymore... vendors are most all VERY careful to require disclamers against human use be agreed to, ship only in bulk, and are careful to be totally shielded from all commentary implying intent of human use.

This is not the analogue act, it is from the Controlled Substances Act and specifically lists isomers of DOM. That is, these are not controlled substance analogues but rather controlled substance isomers, which are exactly as illegal as controlled substances. This would mean full legal liabilities.

What do you mean by "these"? All 2C chems? I think there is alot of opinion at least among vendor's legal council that this is not the case, that they are NOT covered as you state.... although 2C-E might be a special case.

I wonder, do the ambiguities listed in the case ruling sited at the Erowid page I reference in the definition of these terms leave any room for interpretation as to the "isomer" status of 2C-E, I wonder?

It doesn't matter -- if this is true it is already scheduled and the DEA just doesn't appear to be aware of this yet for some peculiar reason. Again, I will have to contact the DEA on the matter.

So 2C-E is an isomer not an analogue of DOM thus 100% illegal.

Well that clarifies that then, thanks. (editing above post)

Yes, it came up before with 2c-g as I recall, a positional isomer of DOET

This makes 2c-d scheduled too as an isomer of 2,5-DMA

Where did it come up? Is there a ruling in some case against someone where this has been determined and ruled upon by a court? Or are you just talking various people's opinions/analysis?

dumbasses ruining it for the people that do it right with scales, i dont see how these idiots got tripping and somehow thought more would be a good idea. then again we dont know if all of these ppl are dumb and there 1st time with intense 2ce tripping, could have all been going through hyperventilation which could have made the victims go into cardiac arrest, and that can happen on lsd mushrooms anything thatll put you in shock and stimulate heart rate. iv also read they said they became feeling unpleasant after taking it, NO shit its not suppose to make you feel good and ready to party it up with a group of friends

Going through the laws today to see if there was anything that could cover 2c-e before the analogue act. There aren't any legal precedents but from the way it is stated it doesn't look like it'd be difficult to set one.

thanks for the legality info there nuke. One interesting thing to see will be if they actually bring the U.S. Attorney's Office in to prosecute the guy. Best I can tell he hasn't broken any laws in MN, unless he knowingly gave them a near lethal dose of whatever it was they took.

2C-B, 2C-E, 2C-P, 2C-T-7, DOC, DOM, MDMA, Mescaline and LSD are all in exactly the same legal classification (Class A = Schedule I) in the UK. We don't have an analogue law as such; all PIHKAL and TIKHAL (bar oddly enough, A-MT) are illegal, even ones which are inactive in humans or ones that in some cases perhaps even are theoretical and have not been synthesised.

The DEA have stated before though (in Microgram) that isopropylbenzylamine is not illegal, even though that is a structural isomer of methamphetamine.

Now this may be a bit different as it does not have stimulant effects, whereas the effects of DOM and 2CE are fairly closely comparable, but it still tends to suggest against a reading that any compound that is an isomer of a scheduled drug is illegal already...however 2CE does look like a pretty good candidate for a prosecution under the Federal Analog Act so I can't see it staying legal for long after this kind of media coverage, regardless of whether it proves to be the cause of death in this particular overdose case.

Link? I haven't read this in any articles, but it would clear things up fairly well.

http://blogs.citypages.com/blotter/2011/03/2c-e_trevor_robinson_dead_mass_overdose_blaine.php

They were apparently either chopping the drug up and snorting it, or dissolving it in drinks that night, likely without knowing how much to ingest, according to police who were called to the home early yesterday morning.

None of the 3 articles I've read on it are very good, btw, and I wouldn't consider them to be very reliable. Only these kids really know what happened, or what he took, and they were likely so fucked up that they don't have the story straight ether.

This article http://blogs.citypages.com/blotter/2011/03/2c-e_timothy_lamere_third_degree_murder.php
mentions a couple of telling things... "According to police, 21-year-old Lamere arrived at a spring break party in Blaine and began offering "2C-I" to the guests, saying it was a hallucinogen. He poured out the grayish powder on a living room table, cut a few lines, and snorted one." Yikes! I can't imagine just laying out a big ol pile of 2C-E & cutting out lines. It sounds like this guy had no idea what he was doing.

Also, "The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension analyzed the gray powder found in Lamere's pocket and determined it was 8.9 grams of 2C-E. He was arrested on Friday." 8.9 grams were left. That's a lot of 2C-E... I wonder how much he had to start with? 20 grams? That would be about 1 gram snorted per person! I would think that after the first guy railed his line, he'd be in so much pain that no one would want to repeat his action.

So we have a bunch of kids drinking and taking who-knows-what-else, then a guy comes in & gives them massive doses of 2C-E.

Another thought - I believe tobacco acts as an MAOI. What if they had been smoking a lot, or doing hookahs? Maybe they had been trying botanicals such as Syrian Rue, or messing with Zoloft or Prozac? Had they been doing MDMA earlier in the day? And of course there's the possibility that the 2C-E was from a bad synth or contained impurities...

There's way too many variables to really make any good guess, other than the facts of: 1) inexperience & lack of proper research, and 2) unmeasured dosing, especially in a party atmosphere. It's a shame and a waste...

Methamphetamine is in a different schedule (II) and in that schedule it does not include positional isomers.

when i do my 2c-e research.
first dose 10mg,
second 14,
third 16 and so on,
that is what you are supposed to do,
start low,
feel the waters,
that is how you avoid freakouts,
at least try to..
the information is there,
its just people have HUGE egos,
and thus think they are better than the compound,
they get their ass kicked.
i always surrender myself to psychedelics on the comeup,
that way it knows i dont think i am supperior in some way to nature,
i am nature.

I would be very careful about legal advice coming from a "vendor's legal council", especially if they are in a different country. How many lawyers know even very basic chemistry???

JESUS CHRIST!?!? Even people I know that have sold 2C-E "on the street" have never had the need to keep that much 2C-E at once. And in your fucking pocket for fucks sake? I don't even disagree with that 3rd degree murder charge anymore that guy is a fucking retard.
