Methadone clinic and benzos

i got tested today but i think i passed (they send the tests out ) i bought one of those at home cvs tests to check my friends pee since i dont trust him . it checks for 12 drugs even benzos and methadone. if he was lying to me and trying to set me up to fail i will know now

well he was honest tested it and only positive was methadone which is perfect , but im
going to try to go off my klonopin anyway. just taking 1 mg today . im up t 65 mg methadone already

I am starting at a methadone clinic in the morning and was instructed to stop everything and come in fully in WD....

They will test for benzos along with everything else.

I don't regularly use benzos but have occasionally for WD in the past week.

Will they be able to tell exactly how recently I took them?

For example, if I last take temazepam 12 hours before going in will they know that, or if they know that I took it 3-4 days prior will they not be able to tell the difference?

Same goes for hydrocodone, I told them I had some today but not enough to keep me from being sick, would they be able to tell if I took more but not in the 12 hours before going in?

They can't confirm when exactly you took the drug. If it shows up they just assume you took it within the period of time that it shows up for.

So as long as I tell them upfront that i took it within the past few days for WD symptoms and agree to not take them anymore I should be fine?

I really can't stand the thought of a whole night of methadone WD with nothing at all to help.......My body expects 80-100mg of methadone so it isn't a small thing...

I am in rough shape at the moment......Like I said I have been used to around 100mg but have had a total of 90mg since last wednesday.......

70mg on Sat, 20mg on Sun......and 60mg of hydrocodone today which is like pissing on a 4 alarm fire IMO....

I have another 20 hours until I can get in there and no way to get anything else before then......My only real option would be to take some benzos but i was scared of being rejected by the clinic or something....

I would rather suffer tonight than take any risk of that so I need to be damn sure that cannot happen before I take any benzos.....

If you've already taken benzos in the last 3-4 days then you could go ahead and take some more if they are already going to show up.

Hmm....

The last time I took any benzos was FRI night....

That is kind of cutting it close on the 3-4 days......It might not show up at all if I don't....

I am not a regular user and only took them when I was totally out of Methadone on Wed-Fri night........

I was mixing very small amounts of k-pin with the restoril (15-30mg doses)

There is something specific about clonazepam that makes it difficult to detect with most drug screens. I can't find any more information on this, but I recall reading a few bits on the web over the years. First I heard about that was the day after waking up from a clonazepam OD when the ER doctor kept grilling me about what I OD'ed on and refusing to believe me that it was c-pin...finally after busting my balls for half a day she told me I might be telling the truth since drug screens frequently miss even massive doses of clonazepam. Then, another time, when I allegedly committed some felonies while under the influence of -- I guess -- between 50 and 100mg of clonazepam I was drug tested (urine and blood) by the cops, and I came up negative. In both cases I took massive quantities of 2mg generic American clonazepam tablets. I cannot explain any further, and I'm not claiming certainty, but I've heard repeatedly over the years that clonazepam is missed by drug screens more often than other benzos and I have had some experiences which make sense in that light.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I believe what socio said about Clonazepam being difficult to detect in most drug screens is probably right (and jake99's argument now seems to make some sense).

I was reading up on Clonazepam (on wikipedia) today and I came across this:

Clonazepam and 7-aminoclonazepam may be quantified in plasma, serum or whole blood in order to monitor compliance in those receiving the drug therapeutically, to confirm the diagnosis in potential poisoning victims or to assist in the forensic investigation in a case of fatal overdosage. Both the parent drug and 7-aminoclonazepam are unstable in biofluids, and therefore specimens should be preserved with sodium fluoride, stored at the lowest possible temperature and analyzed quickly to minimize losses.

Source - R. Baselt, Disposition of Toxic Drugs and Chemicals in Man, 8th edition, Biomedical Publications, Foster City, CA, 2008, pp. 335-337.

So I'm guessing that because it is unstable in biological fluids, it is hard to detect or only a small amount is detected.

need info on methadone dosing- trying to quit oxys

my husband and i were up to +/- 90 mg of oxycodone per day each . Needless to say things got BAD and we decided its time - we are over this shit - we need to !!!! So now we have been on mathadone 10 mg tablets every 24 hrs each since last Monday .
Would love to hear from people who have done quit their addiction using mathadone and how they did it ...
Asking for help with tapering down info , dosage info ....any info would help . We are doing this we are ready !

the clinic i go to wont give you take homes if you are on benzos.

The clinic I go to never told me when I had my intake (first) appointment that they wouldn't give me any carries because I'm on Xanax even though I made it clear to them that I had been on it for 4 years at the time, plus, I also brought my med bottles for them to see. Had I known at the time, I probably wouldn't have started taking methadone. I'm wondering who the hell I can talk to about possibly forcing them to give me carries because of this and also because I've had clean urine for several months and I haven't gotten 1 carry. Such bullshit.

You can't force anyone there to give you take homes. The only thing you can do is stop taking the Xanax. Since you've been on it for 4 years makes it hard for you to be able to do that. Other than that I don't know what to say. You get take homes on Sunday though right? I believe everybody does on Sunday because the clinic is closed.

No, here in Ontario the clinics stay open every day of the year (only difference is that they are only open for up to 3 hours during weekends and holidays). Also, afaik all the clinics are run by a single parent company. In total they have 36 clinics in different cities across the province and they have a headoffice which apparently regularly audits each clinic.

There could be some other clinics in the larger cities that I haven't heard of but I'm not sure.
