What are you munching on? v. the cheese n' fish cake crew

Those Scampi & Lemon crisps that you only ever see in pubs are my favourite. Not gonna make you very popular with anyone within niffing distance of the uberfishy breath you have after eating 'em but well worth it. The bacon ones are also nice. Never seen either outside of a pub though. The Nik-Nak version ain't such a bad replacement, mind :)

I can't be arsed to venture upstairs to inspect the packet
You keep your fish fingers upstairs?
made my friends a massive caserole with some spare cans of guiness none of them were going to drink.
People have Guinness that they don't intend to drink?

So much madness.

These 'em?

Those are the one's I was referring to anyway.

Becoming the propreitor of your own deep-fat fryer will change your life. You'll never want to consider a grilled fish finger or an oven chip again.

Frozen oven chips are gaff. Home made oven chips are the way to go. Part boil the chips, then oven cook covered in a little oil. Healthy and crispy given the right spud :)

Fuck that. Double fried in hot oil is the way to go. A chip is deep-fried. There is a myriad of ways to prepare potato without using the fryer. The chip is not one of them.

Also, a chip should be salted as soon as it comes out of the fryer. Don't bring me unsalted chips and give me salt; it's too late. Basically, if healthy cunts want non-fried, unsalted food, they should just not order chips.

I didn't realise I felt so strongly about this...

Spinach soup sounds a bit hardcore for my tastes, Spadey. Spinach is great in curries and not so great elsewhere. It's okay with ricotta in cannelloni and the like too actually. But not as the main ingredient in soup. That's just wrong :|

Got the end of a loaf of bread needs eating (actually needed eating a day or two back) so a supper of toast with peanut butter is looming. With butter under the peanut butter :p

I'd imagine if it had a chicken or beef stock in it with some onion and perhaps some leek. If it's potato I'd imagine it to be kinda like potato and leek, that kind of consistency. If it's just blended down spinach with some stock it doesn't sound too nice.

Spinach is great, I eat it in soups, on sandwhiches with cold meat, in curries, pasta and sometimes even just as it is in big handfuls from the bag. The soup is really tasty, you blend it down with potato and add cream and nutmeg.

that kind of consistency.

Nah it's quite thin and light if you get the quantities right and add enough cream.

I won't argue about the taste of deep fried chips. But if you're prepared to go down that fatty road, I hope you do it properly and use lard or dripping =D

Sounds nice. I like eating creamed spinach so I would imagine I would enjoy that.

That also sounds acceptable, Yerg. Maybe I'm not quite as hard on spinach, hard on the causes of spinach as I initially thought. Still don't fancy spinach soup though.

PS: Top bit o' toast that. So crunchy it was bordering on cracking teeth. In a good way. Excellent peanut butter too - and 33% extra at the moment so many a toasty Goodness to come <3
