I'm having a panic attack after taking tramadol I know it will pass im not sure why or how please explain it to me I should know but I don't Im not even that worried just in a little pain and having difficulty breathing what can I do for my breathing what might help I don't currently have any benzos I could ask my mom but I don't want to ask I do far to often.

Lay down on a bed, couch or sofa and try to take long deep breaths in and out and concentrate on your breathing. You could also try breathing into a paper/lunch bag. If you have access to chamomile tea try making yourself a cup if possible.

I know how you feel and I know it sucks. I've been suffering from Panic Disorder for about 6 years now. Then again, I've been on Xanax almost since then.

take long deep breaths in through the nose. out through the mouth. this relieves pressure in the head or someshits my doc said.

Its passed mostly I found taking my mind off it helped but wasn't easy I was reading about anxiety and other things it helped take my mind off my own breathing and just think of anything else.

I was in bed the other day concentrating on my breathing it didn't help at all but why did I have a panic attack is their anyway for you to tell me I should know why but I don't understand it at all and its bothering me that I just dont know why.

I hate to possibly make you more anxious by saying this but I think you could use some medical advice because it doesn't sound like this is going to go away any time soon.

I was in the same boat. Kept getting extremely anxious, I couldn't sleep whatsoever, my mind was racing, I could feel my heart pounding and yet I did not wanna go to see a doctor (I detest going to the hospital, or any doctor or dentist) and dealt with it by drinking which worked while I was intoxicated but immediately came back as the effects of the booze wore off. Then one day I got the most massive panic attack I have ever had and I collapsed while trying to clutch my chest with my numb hands. I was convinced I was experiencing a heart attack. Anyway my point is that without prescription medication I was unable to function.

why did tramadol give me a panic attack does anyone know how thats possible I think It slowed my breathing and then it just got worse from there I also poped my lung a few months back could that have anything to do with it does it fully heal with no future problems I know Im asking alot of medical questions but I don't know where else to ask and get a good answer I get great information about all things here on BL.

I have heard of people who suffer panic attacks on opiates and Tramadol seems to be especially stimulating. It may have something to do with the SNRI properties. What happened to you isn't as uncommon as you'd think. I can't offer too much knowledge on the subject as I'm no doctor.

Do other opiates do the same as tramdol your saying tramadol has SNRI properties I had alot of the side effects would hydrocodone or any other do the same or is it impossible to know until I try?

Tramadol isn't a regular opiate, if that's what you're asking. Tramadol has both opiate and SNRI properties. Hydrocodone is just an opiate, no SNRI properties.

It's possible that it was the SNRI properties (which are part of what make tramadol stimulating) caused your panic attack, but its not possible for us to be 100% sure what caused your panic attack.

If you haven't tried hydrocodone before, its always good to start low and work your way up, just in case it was indeed the opiate properties that caused your panic attack.

I know this has nothing to do with anything, but you should probably learn to use punctuation. It's annoying reading a 400 word sentence.

Can't be sure if other opiates like hydrocodone would do the same. Is this the first time Tramadol has caused this? Because its possible this was a one time thing and could have happened for any number of reasons, just none that I know of.
