Minnesota teen reportedly dies from 2C-E drug overdose



A house party Thursday in Blaine, Minnesota, has led to tragedy with one young adult dead and 10 others hospitalized after taking the synthetic drug 2C-E.

Trevor Robinson, a 19-year-old from Coon Rapids, was taken off of life support and it is believed he overdosed on the drug, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Anoka County Sheriff Commander Paul Sommer told reporters that earlier in the day he had read that there had been no cases of overdoses related to 2C-E, and added, “Today, that’s no longer the case.”

Sommer also reportedly said that victims told him that “they had used the drug in drinks and some copped it into lines and snorted it.” He believes the group was not familiar with the drug and its effects, and “how much could make them overdose.”

The overdose victims ranged in age from 16- to 21-years-old, and many had to be tracked down by police after they had “fled” the party.

What is 2C-E?

2C-E is a “designer drug” described as a hallucinogenic, in the 2C drug family of chemical compounds. Users have reported “vivid hallucinations” not unlike those experienced after taking LSD. Taken in the usual dosage of 10-20mg, the drug’s effects generally last between six and ten hours.
Commonly sold as Europa, 2C-E is an “unscheduled” drug in the United States, meaning it does not fall under the purview of the Controlled Substances Act, putting it in a gray area that makes it legal to distribute and it is readily available on the Internet, often sold as a “research chemical.” A push to change that classification is likely to come as a result of the death of Trevor Robinson

I have done 2c-i and 2c-b plenty of times.. makes ya trip balls.

Once i was sent to tennis camp in lake tahoe, and i smuggled a gang of 2c-i with me.. i was trippin balls through the airport, the flight, freaked some kids out at tennis cause i guess i was acting weird when i was tripping balls. Good
times. And i freak danced this hot bitch and made out when i was tripping balls on 2c-i.lol. i was a crazy 16 yr old..the bitches were feeling RM at tennis camp, couple a really hot ones too..fuckin smoky hot .. lmao, i wa@ gona sex this hot chick, and i fucking got busted sneaking outa my room and knocking on her door, in my underwear, at 1 in the am by some fucking asshole tennis instructors, it was like a drug task force sting...

Never done 2ce. Wouldnt mind doin it. I assume 10,15,20 mgs safe..

we used to get pounds of boomers and well they where fine for a while but then everytrip was really shitty..so shitty to the point ill never trip again

no acid, no boomers, no rolls, no salvia nothing that makes me hallucinate and trip..shit fucked up my mind too much

shit 2 days ago i hit this spice shit that my uncle gave since i couldnt smoke weed and i hgit it twice and litterally tripped the fuck out..to point where i was like damn dude are you still breathing? holy shit your kinda trippin..i was postin on here and couldnt type a sentence like i kept repeating it and couldnt focus and it seemed like the laptop was almost no real and then i just started laughin cause i was like relax you just smoked that shit youll be fine(kinda like the whole if ytour freakin out while trippin your supposed to remind yourself its just trippin and what you took and really your fine) and after i did that a few times i was laughing at myself for tweakin myself out..it wasnt some harcore hallucination trip but it definetly was something differnt and not normal..but a took some sips of water and just kept reminding myself that im fine and im just tweakin myself out and with in 5mins i was back to normal...

i just kinda freaked out cause ive been smokin this shit like one 1 or 2 bowls a day but 2 days ago i started with the better quality spice and it tweaked me out..wasnt expecting a mild trip lol

but someone who never has tripped hit that shit after smokin it for a few days and then felt what i felt prolly would have really freaked the fuck out but me of course sits there laughin callin myself a dumb ass for trippin a very mild and freakin myself out

i dontknow what it was ive been smokin that shit for like 4 days not and then i switched it up and smoked the better stuff first and took just 2 hits outta a bowl and yeah it wasnt some hardcore feakout but it was kinda mild but i noticed it and like i said i calmed myself down knowing that what ever happened was cause i smoked that shit and to relax
 
we call mushrooms boomers here in michigan too. i read about this incident on the shroomery though, and one guy who claims to know some of the people involved said it was actually mephedrone sold as 2C-E.
 
That's sad that he died. But since 10 other people were hospitalized isn't it more likely that it was a bad batch that wasn't 2c-e? That or 11 people took overdose amounts?

Also in toronto some people will know what ur talking about if you say boomers. Well actually most should. Especially if they do shrooms. Most times we call shrooms "zoomers," so it doesn't take rocket science for us to make the connection between boomers and zoomers lol.
 
when i first started seeing booms and hearing people use the word..i thought they where saying bloomers but then i was corrected but i really dont know where boomers or booms comes from
 
I've heard mushrooms called boomers a bunch of times too, so it's a pretty widely used slang term I'd imagine. I did shrooms and to be honest, I wasn't terribly taken aback with it. It was just too weird. I can't really describe what it was like and why I didn't enjoy it too much, but it just wasn't fun for me.

I mean, life is strange enough to me as it is, I don't need something to make me perceive the world in an even stranger way.
 
I would bet that it wasn't actually 2C-E...

Once I was drunk and wasn't thinking, I completely downed a drink in one big gulp that had probably about 150mg of the stuff in there, mind you the effects didn't end up wearing off for probably 28+ hours, and TBH I've never felt the same since, especially when I smoke weed now, brings out some weird, unusually trippy effects from weed that I never used to get. Bottom line is I was fine, a bit panic stricken once I realized what I had done, but good ol' wikipedia gave me some peace of mind saying that there are no reported deaths from use of 2C-E and that people have taken well over 100mg and all that happened was a very long trip. So I just held on and went for the ride...And I feel pretty certain that what I took was 2C-E as my friend that I took it with is older and bought it back in the day when all kinds of RCs were very easily obtainable.

Though they also don't specify how much people took, maybe they took some dosages that were even more outrageous than mine and maybe it does kill in those dosages.

spice is sometimes a little too much for me too. i smoke it often (i smoke a bowl with my sister and kick it with her when she comes home from work) and sometimes it jacks my heart rate up so much i begin to worry. the paranoia associated with it also surpasses canabis
 
I've done 2c-b, 2c-c, 2c-e, and 2c-I and I have never felt like I was in any danger, ever.

I would be incredibly skeptical that these people actually ingested 2c-e though. It's still pretty tragic and just bad for the community in general but that's what happens when you have the government pushing prohibition rather than education.
 
Autopsy results have confirmed that the deceased died of cardiac arrest associated with the presence of 2C-E.

However, it sounds like he railed a 100mg line and "reacted to the drug by punching walls, breaking items, staring and having dilated pupils and yelling," which means that the physiological response to the absolutely blindingly unbearable pain that must have resulted from the chemical burns in his sinus cavity probably played as much of a role in his heart attack as the drug itself.

real talk..I always wondered how differnt life would be if I never tripped balls..cause trippin and shrooms definitely makes you look at the world differnt...it makes you think of things differnt and like you Said just the way you perceive things changes

I don't know why you noticed this now but I've always posted interesting stories that I thought others would like..I don't see the big deal I mean they are topics that are from America and involve drugs..DITM isn't the most highly trafficked forum so I will take things that I. Find interesting and what I think others will too...its not like I'm askin how much heroin should a first time use?.. .

i think the cops just tried to blame the first RC they came across

2CE generally runs (from my understanding) <no prices> its not something anyone in their right mind would be wandering around passing out for free, its generally sold in 15-20mg increments, i have a hard time believing 2CE is the chemical to blame here i would probably say it was MDPV
