why do some people go retarded after one time doing acid

Never heared about this. LSD isn't neurotoxic, and it shouldn't affect cognitive abilities of mentally stable people. If one has latent mental disorder, psychedelics can bring these problems to the surface.

What do you mean by "retarded"?
 
LSD changes people, there's no doubt about it. But the change can be shocking; realizing things that violate your very core beliefs would turn you into a wreck too. Some people either don't react well to stress in general or were'nt prepared for the trip. Or they disregarded the rule of set and setting. Who knows.

The vast majority of LSD trips are good ones. If more people ended up, quote, retarded, after tripping, I'm sure we would hear about it.
 
You really need to provide more detail about your friend's situation. What was he like before LSD? Was he certain what he ingested was LSD? What happened to him while tripping? Did anyone else trip with him? Were you his trip sitter, or did you speak directly with them before and after the experience? I've seen someone act crazy, or "retarded" while tripping, but in years of reading clinical data, experience reports, and collecting a good about of personal experience on the subject I've never heard someone describe a pronounced drop in IQ after taking real LSD.

As alllium was saying, there is a statistical correlation between LSD use and the emergence of schizophrenia in people with a family history of mental illness. Personally, I've never quite concluded "causation" from this correlation though. The fact is that schizophrenia tends to appear around the same time when most people start experimenting with drugs (mid-teens to early twenties). It may be that LSD brings this to the surface quicker, but it may be that these people end up crazy because they were going to end up crazy weather they used LSD or not. It may not be something that you want to risk, though, if you have a family member who suffers form schizophrenia.

Hope this is helpful, but I'd really be interested in more information on your friend.
 
Your friend had latent retardation. Was gonna happen sooner or later. The acid just triggered it early.

I'm thinking we've been trolled, guys. You can't "go retarded" from dropping acid. Period. Worst it can do is precipitate latent schizophrenia or psychosis, or trigger PTSD symptoms from an intensely traumatic trip.
 
OP please explain yourself pronto or prepare to have this thread getting shut down on account of nonsense.

But it just might be you meant general but serious psychological problems and used an inappropriate blanket term.

acid made me the opposite of retarded, it opened my eyes and allowed me to objectively view situations that occurred and not be so emotion driven.
 
why would anyone this retarded even make a bluelight account? sometimes, the stupidity of people makes me sad...

other times, i'm tripping on DOC and it makes me laugh. This is one of those times. hahahahah!

You've been reading too much fiction by S.E. Hinton who wrote "The Outsiders".

I read one of her books, I think it was called "That was then this was now" and the part with someone taking drugs and believing that they're somehow a glass of orange juice happened to the main character's little brother in the completely fictional novel.
