I dunno if this is against guidlines but i have noticed that the purity issue on drugs keeps popping up in different threads and i just wanted to start up a thread on purity levels on drugs seized in both large amounts and also the average street level amounts. It seems there is a real lack off understanding and also alot of misconceptions and assumptions when it comes to what people are taking these days. It seems that the government and police here in australia do provide information about purity levels but unlike in other parts of the world it seems the media do not often print the details. I think from a harm reduction perspective drug users should have easy access to information regarding the purity levels and common cuts etc of different drugs seized and/or tested in different parts of australia.

So this thread is about discussion on purity of drugs and please paste any information people find on drug purity levels in australian cities, states or country etc.

I hope this thread doesnt break any of the rules...

Are you asking for people with access to Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (such as government/police sources or whatnot)to be able to identify purity or 'nose dyno' as in, how strong/pure they THINK their drugs are?

I just woke up so I think my grammar + coherency is probably on the low so I hope I expressed what I wanted to say. Are you asking for official sources at all and/or drug users who 'know' the product which I'd say 90%+ wouldn't know levels ? Not a put down, just question :)

If you're after official stuff, the Australian Crime Commission publishes about this stuff every year, although it seems to always be a year or two behind. The last one is 2008-2009. This page: (http://www.crimecommission.gov.au/publications/iddr/2008_09.htm) has pdfs about each drug they're interested in and each one has a graph about the purity of the stuff Customs seized over the years. Sorry I couldn't find a way to post the pic in here so it will have to just be the link.

If you want this thread to not be derailed by people talking about how 'pure' the stuff they can get is compared to everyone else's or other bullshit, then it should probably stick to reliable sources for purity for drugs in Australia... like what Conscious21 posted.

Wow only 2 seizures totalling 538 tabs of acid in 2008-2009. A lot must be getting through and/or made domestically :)

Here's a quick linky picture from the site, I'm still looking for the main banner jpg, folks are here for a visit so I can't spend too long on the lappy at present. (I found the logo jpg in the first element I inspected of the ACC website for the html ppl heh)

I don't know why you want this?

It seems generally people seem to think their drugs are of a much higher purity than what they actually are. And that's understandable - unless you have a way of testing your stuff, it all comes down to personal experience. Someone who gets 15% speed after previously getting 5% consistently could easily believe the shit is 'pure' because it's so much better than before. With no 'control' substance of a known purity, and known effects, any user's guess at strength will be a wild assumption. The same purity can even effect the same person in very different ways on different dates so any subjective assessment of purity will likely be incredibly inaccurate.

As long as one day people understand that 99.9% of 'speed', 'base', 'ice' etc etc in Aus is methamphetamine of differing purity I will die a happy woman ;)

Here in australia all amphet stims are some form of methamphetamines. Thats how we came about using common 'slang' terms for both methamphetamines and amphetamines when in fact we are just refering to different forms of meth, either the type mainly snorted or eatin (speed) or the form thats smoked (ice). Also different parts of australia use different slang words. I have never heard anyone and its not common at all heree but some BLLs have posted that where they live in australia it is often called 'crack'

^Wow, talk about slang terms having completely different meanings. I guess Aus. is like the U.S., all street speed is methamphetamine, script speed is either mixed amphetamine salts or dextroamphetamine?

Script speed is not a common form here at all, ppl do get perscribed dexamp but its uncommon to have ppl selling persciption 'speed' here

That's how I've always heard of it, but according to wiki, 'ice' can also mean 4-methylaminorex. Maybe you Aussie guys have a different slang than we do?

4-MA was the original 'ice', but that was back in the 80's.

I've noticed that at least in Brisbane, doctors are writing out more scripts for dexamphetamine now. I haven't ever come across it 'on the street' though.
