hello all, im new to this forum so idk if this is in the right spot or not, feel free to move it if not. Anyway i have been taking roxi 30's (blues) for waaayyy too long now and i need to stop. now most of you will probably laugh when i tell you how much ive been taking but i kid you not, ive stopped for 2 days straight a few times and the leg pains and insomnia were bad, i had a few other symptoms too. Since July maybe August ive been taking the blues. Id say i take an average of 45 mg a day (varies from 60 to even 75mg on bad days, all the way to 30mg maybe even less on days i dont have cash). anyway at this rate for 8 months now, is there any way to tell how long my wd period will be? Ive done my research i know that its different for everybody, but i feel like compared to some ppl im taking next to nothing. idk i guess im just looking for some support come tommorow, when i start my wd's:(.

Also, ive taken a quarter of a sub before and tht made me feel good for 12 hours (not high just way better then when withdrawing) I still have the other 3 quarters of the pill, so if i do that for 3 days will it greatly shorten my withdrawal period? thanks for whatever help u can give me ive been prolonging these dreaded withdrawals for too long

by the way i sniff them i would never bang them and i only popped em like 2 or 3 times a month. idk why but sniffing was just the best method of use for me

First of all, welcome to BL :)

Your habit is not very large compared to many, but it is a habit none the less. We have many threads dealing with opiate withdrawal, and I encourage you to use the search engine and peruse our database of information.

In regards to your w/d, oxycodone withdrawal typically lasts about 5-7 days. The third day is typically the worst, and after that it starts getting better. Since you have a suboxone, that will come very in handy. Since your habit is quite small, take 1mg in the morning, and 1mg at night for two days, then .5mg in the am and .5mg in the pm for 1 day, then .5mg once a day for the last two days. This should get you through the oxycodone withdrawals, and when you stop taking the suboxone your should definitely be able to manage the symptoms. They should be pretty minimal, minor aches and pains, RLS, insomnia/anxiety.

Your'e right, it is different for everyone. A lot of people can make it through the physical part, but the PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome) can linger for a long time afterwards. Once you are feeling better physically the key is learning to deal with your issues and whatnot without opiates. I encourage you to seek out support/help from someone, a counselor/psychiatrist, or AA/NA can be of great help to keep you from relapsing.

I will leave this open for a bit so you can ge tsome responses, then potentially move it. If you have any questions you can PM me.

dude you need to actually quit now. I remember being exactly where you are now and thinking the wd was bad. no matter how bad you feel after that sub is gone just know that it is absolutely nothing compared to what youll go through if you continue on.

yea man im trying to quit for good this time. im sick of having to take these pills just to feel normal, i miss getting high sometimes even nodding off on them. i want to use them like i used to last summer, only during special occasions and a maximum of once a day.

However, i do have another question. Im getting my wisdom teeth pulled in 5 days which i will be put under for. I realize that having oxy in your system definitely doesnt seem smart when there putting me under. On the other hand it might be better then going through withdrawals during the procedure? i would want to take suboxone that morning but idk if thats safe either? what do you guys recommend?

Your habit is small compared to most so stop while you are ahead. Kratom will do the trick. Google (Kratom opiate withdrawal) and you'll get lots of great info. To find a reputable vendor, I suggest the kratomforum- google it:) You probably won't feel the kratom but it will get you through the withdrawal/PAWS. BTW at the Kratomforum, they refer to it as "burning it as inscense" in an effort to keep it legal.

yeah don't worry about the wisdom teeth thing, man. When I got mine out I snorted some heroin right before hand, enough so I wasn't withdrawing. It won't effect anything much. It would probably be worse if you were to do it while in withdrawal. Better chance of waking up during the procedure.

Careful with those "I would never" statements. Last summer you told yourself never more than once a day and I'd venture to say at some point you said you'd never get addicted/never snort it, etc. I'm not trying to be a dick it's just that I've been there and sometimes (lots of times with drugs), the 'I would never''s become 'just this once''s, and so on.

Good luck getting clean. It's tough but if you really want it you can do it. Also, I wouldn't recommend trying to go back to using with the thought that you can just do it every once in awhile. Not many people can, and I'm guessing with the nature of your question that you're not one of those people (as am I, and I'm sure 90% of BLer's).

Peace.

drugstore cowboy if your trying to help thank you but i really dont believe in alot of what you said. i personally KNOW i will never shoot anything up. its downright grimey and ive seen too many people fuck their life up doing that. I also never thought anything bad of snorting being that the first time i did it was that way and i always knew it was alot better.

However you may be accurate with your statement about how most people cant go back to usuing recreationally after they stop. i know my will power isnt near as good as it used to be, but hey the only way to find out is to try right?

There's nothing inherently "grimey" about shooting up. Have you ever had your blood drawn, been vaccinated, had an IV? Done safetly, it's no worse than taking bumps of pills. At least with a good filter you can get the binders and fillers out. Plus, as someone who can now whistle with his nose from railing too much shit, I can say it's not always a lot better.

I was indeed just trying to help, but if you KNOW you never will shoot up, then disregard. Just sharing my experience. Didn't mean to imply that you don't have good will power or something. My bad.

Yeah good luck to you mate. I only use oral opiates like morphine, codeine & opium tea & i've had some horrendous withdrawals that start around 72 hours after my last dose so i know that even at your oxy level you are bound to feel like complete rubbish.
