So, I'm new-ish here. Been registered (hah, makes me sound like some sort of sex-offender) a long time, but tend to use drugs-forum more for some reason...
But where are most of you from? America like I suspect...?

Welcome to Bluelight!

You'll find that the members are from all over the world, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia are the top three countries, I think, but it really is a varied group of people from all over the place.

Thank you! Do you find Bluelight more restrictive than for instance drugs-forum? I see a lot of 'closed' discussions.

And also, looking at the categories, I wonder if heroin/opiates is somewhat down-played...Any thoughts?

Bluelight isn't more restrictive, it's more real.

For instance, closed discussions are closed for a reason, Bluelight has a very straightforward and realistic set of rules, available in the FAQ at the top of your screen. Bluelight also is very aggressive (as it should be) against trolling, something that's very hard to find on message boards these days.

Bluelight also doesn't use the term "SWIM" or variations thereof, because, to be perfectly honest, "SWIM" is stupid. Everybody reading your post knows its you, and it makes reading threads extremely hard.

Bluelight has a much better flow, I think, for the sole reason that we're not using SWIM, SWIY, etc. like other drug forums do.

I don't think heroin or opiates are downplayed at all, look at Other Drugs and Basic Drug Discussion...there's threads about opiates all over both of those forums. :) Just because there isn't a "opiates discussion" board doesn't mean people on Bluelight don't use opiates or heroin ;)

Hm, perhaps. I just personally prefer, and am always looking for, message boeards that have NO restrictions... anarchist is the term I guess... where there are no admins, and you can just post 'till you hearts delight... Then IF it gets cluttered, then youre to blame. In other words, a way of encouraging responsibility.

Also...I very much want to contact another member here, but I cannot since I'm not...on the right status. So, in order to contact him, I must try and post as much as I can here... which certainly creates clutter...

If by restrictive you mean that we don't rank people on how much money they give like some forums then yes I think we are.

Welcome to Bluelight :)

Thank you!
I guess my main issues is just that there are admins hanging over our heads, ready to close a thread as soon as something appears wrapped up. Remeber Arrested Development? The scene with 'pop pop' in prison, and the family visiting? "NO TOUCHING"
Another issue is the fact that such a tremdendously abused drugs like heroin, does not have a seperate section, but is lumped into a genereal category... "Other drugs".

"Hey, man, I'm freaking out... I'm jonesing for some other drugs"
"Meet me at the pier in twenty"
