still the clasic is better. :) jus b/c i tried to become a vampire hanging around those kind of people. got into drugs instead lol.

Playing for Keeps

terrible teen comedy, but has 21 year-old marisa tomei in it. she wears bright lipstick; big, plastic jewelry; ridiculous clothes; cute bows and ribbons in her hair--all pink and 80s.

she doesn't get near enough screen time though. funny, because now the dvd cover is a close-up of her with the three main characters in the distant background. the distribution company knows why that movie is still around. certainly the reason i watched it.
 
Finally got around to watching Earthlings. I didn't even realise it was Joaquim narrating until the end credits rolled :S Perhaps not the best film to watch when I needed cheering up....

Nah, I refuse to watch either of the sequels on principle. It's one of those, you don't need to watch it to realise how shit it is numbers. And I really don't wanna taint the original.

This movie was way too long (at least it felt like it) and drawn out. The plot was stupid. No time was spent with the wife, so you don't really give a shit whether he succeeds in getting her out of prison or not. At least I didn't. Every character in it was so damn morose, I wanted to take a full bottle of sleeping pills just to endure them. Goddamn this movie to hell.

Plucking the Daisy

some slapstick romance/comedy from the french 50s. bought it blind because neither netflix nor my library have it, and i found it for only 7 bucks. young brigette bardot looks phenomenal in it, of course. i started the movie with appropriate expectations for an old (silly) romantic comedy, but was still turned off. not because it was mediocre in quality--which it was--but because it was creepy. i give movies from the 50s a lot of grace when it comes to light sexism, but there was something ugly about this one. too bad, i really wanted it to be fun and pretty--which it was trying to be.
