Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine FAQ & Megathread v3; 2010 - 2022

^For the record, most people that advocate smaller doses take doses in the under 2mg range... 4-8mg is still a huge dose.

I find that for maintenance and detox, I needed at least 2 mg, but for cravings, as little as .33mg will do the job just fine.
Plus then you know you can't really get high anyways, so what's the point in scoring?

I was just banging a 8mg sub, and I had a question. What is "left over" in the spoon? If it was dope, it'd be the cut... so is it just the filler?

I have been on suboxone for 6 years. I really don't want to get off it. I am on 2 mg a day. Docs keep wanting me to wean but when I get under 2 I get mental. Is there anyone in here who has been on this longer? What are your opinions? I do want to stop, but there is never a good time. That is the part that bites.

So I tapered down to around .25mg for a week then jumped off @ that dose. I had no idea what to expect from the Bupe WD's, after hearing so many conflicting reports I really had no idea what to expect in terms of severity. I had been on it for about 7 months, starting at the the very high dose of 16mg/day

On the 2nd day of my detox a friend randomly came over and wanted to sample some MDPV w/ me. I was feeling mild withdrawals, but decided to experiment with this strange stimulant. I have been taking small daily doses for the last 8 days and have felt nearly no WD effects. A few doses throughout the day have kept any noticeable WD symptoms at bay. I'm now on day 8. I didn't take it on the 8th day and I feel a little wiped from the MDPV but can't say I feel any effects from opiate withdrawal.

I'm shocked really... I have never heard of someone jumping off Bupe w/ no WD whatsoever. But this strange little amp-analogue has effectively quelled any acute symptoms of opiate withdrawal. I doubt MDPV will have this same effect on everyone, but I thought it would be worth mentioning. At the very least as an interesting anecdote

^ look at what i posted earlier today.. http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showpost.php?p=9409872&postcount=61

i know theres a difference between DMAA and MDPV but the point is we both had bupe w/d's and quelled them with a stimulant for about a week and felt almost no w/d.. difference is my dose was 1-2mg/day and i was on it 4 years. I think we might be on to something.. stims are uncomfortable with most opiates, but since bupe stimulates you a little bit and all the different receptors it works on we could actually be cheating w/d's with a different chemical.

for me i think 2-4mg is ideal... actually idea would be 1mg twice a day... but i just quit any iv oxy 400mg habit... its gonna take some time for my system to get such a lose dose of bupe..

I think today i took around 6mgs and feel good

my doctor's putting me on suboxone this week. i'm so excited. i haven't done any mood altering chemicals for 2 months because i've been in jail and now i'm out on supervised release so i can't do anything illegal. i told my doctor i was having drug cravings and he wants me to start suboxone! woo hoo!

Of course. 8mg is a very small amount, only 2% of the entire 400mg in mass pill.

If you are stable, and you have a good life for yourself, then stay on Suboxone.

Your doctors aren't going to take you off of it unless you are ready, or unless they are dropping you as a patient. Explain how you feel if you take less than 2mg to them.

My last script was for the film strips, my first was for the tablets and it has lasted me 4x as long as it was supposed to, so now I'm finally going to fill the film strips because I still do need to take less than .25 or so if I get bad cravings (better than going out and scoring).

My question for those of you who have used these is how do they keep?
I'm probably going to have these for like a year or two at least considering I go through them so slowly - do they have the same problems as Lysterine strips where it turns into one huge gummy mass? Are they individually wrapped? (That seems like a waste to me) Do they dissolve well in your mouth or stick to your teeth like lysterine strips do?

I have been on the sub program for about 3 1/2 months, this is my second time around. This time when I was induced I was given 8 2mg strips on the first day and then the next day my doc asked me if I wanted the strips or the pills, I am on three 8/2mg a day. I liked the strips and the first script that I got filled I got strips because of the coupon for $<snip> off and to reduce the risk of me wanting to IV them. I have since went back to the pills, those strips are some kind of lemon-lime flavored snot in your mouth. Yes they do leave that gooey nastiness that sticks to your teeth but they do work faster than the pills because the dissolve super quick. The pharmacy told me that they were going to start making different flavors so maybe that will help, so IMHO
I think that the strips are better sub lingual if you can stand the taste. (and yeah the taste of the pills are pretty nasty too, but nothing like that lemon crap)

Quick question everytime I take my dose of suboxone 4mg I feel the itch balls itch that's really like the oxycodone use to make me do , is that why there itchy since suboxone is a partial agosist opiade I'm guesing? Or no?

^You can probably lower your dose a bit to get rid of some of the side effects and still get good effects. Bupe is commonly underestimated in strength and many of the side effects are due to taking doses too large. Ideally, I'd taper to around 2mg or even less, and this really shouldn't be a difficult drop. If you encounter any difficulties with this, go slower and it should be relatively easy to get to this amount. If you feel that you need more than 2mg, you can obviously stay at a higher dose, but you will surely feel more of the side effects. Also, most people do not find that they need more than 2mg bupe, and many stay under 2mg.

Preferably by someone with experience, can someone estimate how long it takes since your last use of heroin after being addicted, until one can get "high" from suboxone.
I know its not a good idea, but still.... no one seems to even have an estimate.

It took about months to an entire year for me. I had a long span of PAWS, I believe, which is why this took this long for myself.

I would estimate 6 months on average.

Anything which isn't safely micron filtered can be dangerous and cause a sort of negative reaction you are alluding to here.

Check out the last link in my signature.

I have no experience IVing the strips whatsoever, maybe it also is influenced by an inactive ingredient? Possibly but I'm not 100% sure either.

Finally, please do not size=5 your font. As amapola also said, red text is most often used by moderators, so choose a different color. :)
