Hi I gave my mate some of my takeaway methadone dosage and got stuck into it myself before it was due, to get extra stoned. So on Sunday I only have about 12mg of methadone left and my normal dose is 80mg. Now I have gone a day without any before and it wasn't to hard at all I just smoked heaps of cones and sweated it out.Now I have 6 x tramadol 200mgs so was reading to only take 4 in a day. Was asking is it safe if I took all 6 considering my opiate tolerance or would it even be enough to touch my sides and stave off the sweats?

Don't take that many, it wont do any better and the more you take the higher the risk for seizure gets.....tramadol isn't a normal opiate as it works on seratonin also...

You will be fine on 4 of them...

Swim is not used here and is against the rules....please don't use that again, it doesn't help you anyway.

You can get by easily enough.

IIRC 400-450mg of tramadol is the max you can metabolize at once, at least safely. Dose twice seperated by 4-6 hours. In addition, if you can find codeine OTC, get it, and use another 400mg of that, spaced 5.5-7 hours apart. Also, buy some generic immodium, loperamide. It's a lifesaver, seriously. To stop at least the phys. symptoms, and some of the mental (dose-dependant), take at least 20mg, and have laxatives handy. 80+mg is very sedating, lasts long, and really does work (used it to help quit intravenous hydromorph, myself). Trust me on the loperamide, seriously, man.

Finally, the best means of going a day might be to buy a kilo of poppy seeds and make morphine tea. Cheap, and VERY effective. You can nod, oreven OD on it. If you want, I willpost more info on it, as it helped me with WD'ing uncounted times.

More than 400mg in a day can trigger seizures. (This can occur at dosages even lower than this in individuals with an otherwise lowered seizure threshold.)

I wouldn't recommend going over this amount at all, but if you do, it would be wise to take an anticonvulsant along with it (preferably a long-acting benzodiazepine like clonazepam, just be sure to dose appropriately for your tolerances.)

Very worth noting. If you wait a bit,you can takemore, but be aware and careful.

I'vedosed 400mg twice in a day before, but it is risky.

^there is no ceiling to metabolism AT ALL, please check your facts before making claims. As dokomo pointed out, the 400mg/day prescribing limit is due to the impact is has on the seizure threshold. Many people have exceeded 400mg a day but do you really want to encourage someone to do that and then have them seize? Personally I don't.

If you use safe amount of tramadol you might experience some relief but it's not going to hold you if you're used to 80mg methadone just please don't take crazy high amounts because it can quite dangerous.

Also, as noted, we don't allow swimming in here. If you want this to be read and stay open, please edit out the water sports.

I didn't mean a ceiling like with codeine, I meant its toxic effects. And, yes, I agree, not good to use more. Sorry I didn't type a good explanation, as I am using not a keyboard but a horrible touchscreen device.

Tramadol, withcodeine, loperamide, and poppy seed tea will definately put a huge dent in your WD symptoms. I used to do 30-40mg of dilaudid a day and it was fine for me.

I'm not encouraging someone to megadose this drug. But it will help, and can be used safely especially with benzos and/or other anti-convulsants.

C2tL, I know that tram metabolizes dirty; some of the products are toxic. That's what I meant, not a ceiling. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

^my bad, I saw you say 'you can't metabolize more than that' and missed the qualifier "safely" so my response was unwarranted.

Good advice here, especially loperamide as its so cheap and readily available as well rather effective at mitigating withdrawal at the right dosage.

Geez with methadones half life I often go 1-2 days without having to dose again I'm at 100 mgs a day for the past 2 years. Tramadol is a joke for someone with a high opiate tolerance I doubt you'll get anything out of it no matter how much you were to take

Hey thanks alot for all the responses so quickly alot of good information. Cause yeh I have gone days without plenty of times before but I like to have at least something on hand cause by the nighttime it can be hard to get to sleep and start getting hot/cold sweats etc nothing I can't just push through I actually already got some of that loperamide so yeh thanks for all the info much appreciated.

I don't want to make a new thread or bump an old one so...

Question: Since Tramadol isn't an opiate, does that mean that suboxone does not block it?
