OK I feel like an idiot. I never post on here, usually just review some cool threads and look at information. Anyways, for the last little while I've been using some new substances. I have found a favourite. Opiates, particularily heroin, are far above anything else. But, on to my problem. I can not for the life of me hit a vein. i have been trying to inject 1/4- 1/3 of a 8mg dilaudid, so id estimate 2-3 mg. I bought for dillie 8's, and I am down to, well, zero. The first time I rectally plugged 4 mg to get the feel of it, then I tried to inject with a 28g 1/2in needle that I got from Insite, or safe injection center here in Vancouver. I can not hit a vein. Veins are hard enough to find on my arms, and I admit, I'm scared. I keeo missing. I have tried many times, but end up missing and just snorting/plugging the liquid and snorting the other 6mg. Well, I'mn not fat. I would be considered skinny for a 5'7" 15 year old, about 120 pounds. I take all the advice on here, inserting the needle at a 45 degree angle, tying my arm off, hitting the vein in the crook of my arm, etc. I pull back the plunger expecting to see some crimson red blood, but only air, yes I said air, fills the syringe. WTF? this sucks. My arms are startingto hurt, just 20 minutes ago I must have stuck myself 4-6 times, and 8 yesterday. I hate this. It wouldn't be bad if I got a result, but i feel like a failure pin cushion. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Any tips? Anybody wanna come help me?lol, just kidding about helping me. Unless you really want. Anyways, another problem is trying to keep the needle in place, as it always slips around. I feel like I need a friend to help, but all of my friends are too stupid. Btw, nobody here does any drugs harder than ecstasy and ketamine, I am considered the most hardcore of my group even though I control my use and am an honor roll student. So asking them is out. So please, please, i really want to graduate to IV use and stop shoving liquid up my ass! so please help me out, It would be appreciated. Anyways, I have typed too much. Opiates make me do that, sorry haha.

Thanks,
Zopiclonelife

PS... hate my username now, after two od's with benzo's and benzo like drugs Im not a fan

Hey thanks for the quick reply. I dont know where to get anything except 28g 1/2" , the only place I know to go to is Insite and the needle exchange on Hastings st. in downtown Vancouver. Like a said, Im a noob usually snorting my heroin and other opiates but this is becoming expensive. I usually get a rockfiend to run in and get me some rigs as I dont know if they would supply me with them. I also dont believe they have 31g, as most people down there dont give a shit about what they stick in their arms.

As for your question, I can see very small parts of blue, what I suspect are my veins, when I tie off. I dont even know if I am tying off right, Im a pioneer in IV and opiate use in my group of friends. I can feel one vein, but I was scared it might be something else because its hard to see. I went for bloodwork a copuple days ago and I was so tempted to ask the nurse how she does it, except my mom was within hearing range. Anyways, I will be picking up some more goodies this weekend, most likely 2 papers of down, 2 8mg dilaudids and 4 60 mg m-eslon morphine, So i will be ready to try again! Its starting to hurt though, and my arms are looking like swiss cheese from all the needle holes in my tender arms haha.

Again, thanks for all your help.

Have you tried purchasing 31G 1cc insulin syringes from a pharmacy? This is probably your best bet. You should also be able to order them online, but I don't live in Canada, nor do I know what it's like trying to find needles up there.

I would take a break from trying to IV, get your 31G 1CC insulin syringes, and then save some heroin, morphine, dilaudid, whatever you want for later.

Then I would suggest you go hit the gym for a few weeks, as doing muscular exercises with your arms will help the veins become visible.

i always found it easier to hit a vein on the top of my hand or forearm....even your foot..but make sure u hit it if u try foot cuz that shit hurts if u miss..just tie off and try to find a big vein

Hands and feet are a bad place for someone new to IV injection to start. Hands are full of nerves and such. Try putting the needle in FASTER, if you put it in too slow, your vein sorta rolls out of the way.

For some reason, I had better luck IVing with FAT ass 21Guage 3ml syringes. It was a lot easier putting that deep into my vein. and pulling back and seeing liquid draw quickly in.

yea u right i didnt graduate to hands til after i totally fucked up my arm veins and it was kinda harder at first

I had trouble at first, I'd sit there for like an hour in the bathroom poking myself like 20 times with a needle for a few days straight before I got the hang of it.

Sadly, I was using only one needle....reused it...so it got duller than shit before I got it down. I still have little marks on my vein from those days.

Definately, I recommend to the OP that you try to get new fresh needles every few attempts atleast.

Hey, thanks for all your help. I use a clean syringe every time, the 28g syringes are very easy to come by with all the Harm Reduction centers in Vancouver. I never reuse a syringe, I only use it until I cant find a vein and give up on the shot, then the needle is junk. I am going to try to get some new syringes, and work out for a bit because that might solve more problems that just not being able to find a vein.

As for sitting in the bathroom and poking myself repeatedly, that sounds about right. The few times I've tried to do this, my parents have come home and I still sat in the bathroom for 20-30 minutes haha.

I'm definitely going to save some opiates for IV use, hopefully with some 31g syringes. There is little chance that I am going to try to hit a vein in my hands or feet, it sounds to risky and since I'm not registering anyways I'm not gonna risk a trip to the hospital or even getting caught from the tracks on my hands. But I understand, the veins on my hand look easy to hit.

Thanks again to everyone who responded, especially since I didnt get the stereotypical response saying I'm a pussy and shouldn't be trying to IV anyways.

Lol, he's right. IVing is the beginning of the end. save yourself the pain and hardship later in life and get you some pussy instead. Feels better in the long run anyways.

You're only 15, man. I suggest holding off on trying to shoot up til much much later. Starting your opiate career this early on is only begging for trouble. Not trying to sound like a dick or anything, I just hate to see you throw your life away at this young an age.

But, if anything do you know any other IV users? Ask someone who shoots if they can hit you for you. This way you'll be able to watch someone do it and learn the proper way.

I started IVing around age 19 or 20, something like that.

Nonetheless, if you start at 15, I can just guarantee you by the time you get 4 or 5 years down the road, you will begin to wish you would have waited until later to start IVing.

Drugs are more rewarding at an earlier age; the earlier you start any drug, the more likely you are to be physically dependent, or dependent on it for a long time.

This isn't to say you couldn't start IVing at age 15 and give it up by age 18, but I doubt may people did just that, to say the least.

I'm not trying to judge anyone though, Bluelight is here to help everyone learn how to IV safely, and this is why all of this information is here.

If you are going to be IVing that young, just do all the research you need to, so as to know exactly what you need to do exactly when it happens.

I didnt start iv'ing till age 34. ;) i WAS JUST THINKING about this .... here I am doing drugs like when I was a kid....

ya, a 1/2 in needle is really long, you might be going all the way thru- in that case pull back and see if you get a flash..

Yeah once I switched to 31g 3/8" tips I was able to hit my veins much much easier. 1/2'' will go through the back of the vein real easily.

Meh, I just used a 1/2 inch 1/2 cc 28 gauge and it worked fine in the hand. Pro-tip: use an elastic band on your arm, maybe 6 inches up from the wrist for a tourniquet. Pops 'em right out.

when your inserting the needle, as soon as you break the skin, pull back on the plunger and hold it if need be.

you want that little "air bubble" in there, that is infact a vacuum..

The vacuum helps in puncturing the vein, and when you get into the vein the blood will rush in and fill that bubble.

you don't want to pull back too much because then the sudden suction once you enter the vein will pull the needle out the other side of the vein, although this is not so much of consequence because you can pull the syringe back slightly and re-register.

Anyways, I will be getting some goodies tomorrow and will post in a couple days whether or not I found smaller needles and was able to register in a vein.

By the way, anyone know why I am pulling in air when I dont register? Has this happened to anyone else?

The air is a vacuum. You are pulling in air, because you are not in a vein.. As soon as you break thee skin, pull back so you DO have the air bubble visible. Then when you DO get in the vein, it will automatically register.
