Why does LSD get a bad rep?

There are many people who just can't handle LSD. And those people ruin it for those who can. I know someone who was tased and tackled by police officers when he didn't even know what was going on since he was so high. The thing is people take to much so there for it gets it bad rep from that kind of stuff. If a hit or two doesn't work for you then you have yourself some shitty acid (unless you're an avid dose taker taking 3 a day). So please by all means be careful!

Luckily, many of us on here love it. I can see where you're coming from. People who will roll incessantly still tell me things like "DOESN'T THAT SHIT CAUSE HOLES IN YOUR BRAIN?!?"
I'm glad I'm not equally ignorant and have been enlightened 9 times thus far.

Half life is at least a day so wait a few days until youre done.

Id just stop it cold turkey but thats me. 15mg every other day if not.

Mirtazapine sucks, but its a great appetite stimulant.

I'll just go straight to 15mg every other day then, hopefully I dont get any withdrawl symptoms.

Thats one of the reasons I want to stop i'm always hungry and its annoying because im so skint at the momement coz I havent got a job so I just have to go hungry and live with hunger pains.

I think its f-ing hilarious... people are SOOOO afraid that they are only barely maintaining sanity and just under the surface is some ultimate lunatic serial-killer mind-state just waiting to take over at which point they fear they will turn into a drooling raving out of control maniac.

What morons.

That's one of the funniest (and most insightful) things I've read on here in a long time! :D

I was speaking to a friend of a friend at a party recently who is in his final year of a medical degree (ie he is already working with patients in hospital and will be a doctor very soon) and he told me he would like to try acid but can't because it is stored in the spine and could be released while he was performing surgery.

I was just shocked that he belived that urban legend. I mean shouldnt he know that thats not possible? I definately wont be going to him for medical advice.

So yeah basically the level of ignorance in the community, including it would seem the medical profession, in regards to LSD is unbelievable.

@bighooter: Man, don't stop any anti-depressant cold-turkey. That's a really sucky way of coming off the drug. Just come off it like you were planning to, or else you'll be in tears.

what about if i just go straight to 15mg every other night for a week then come off them? Would that be better?

Strongly disagree with both of the above posts. I quit paroxetine (Seroxat) a few times cold turkey and it was beyond brutal. Easily one of the worst w/d from anything I've ever had. And I've turkeyed from a fair few things in my time...

Having said that, mirtazipine really isn't too bad by anti-depressant w/d standards. Would definitely recommend cutting down gradually nonetheless though...

Agreed with Shambles. I've tried coming off venlafaxine through both cold-turkey and a fast-taper, and it's nasty. Bighooter, you want to take it easy with it man, there's no big rush. I think even if you jump down from 30mg daily to 15mg every two days, you're gonna feel the difference. It seems like you got some effects from just one tab of acid, and to be fair the LSD can be faily weak on blotters around some parts (around mine definitely). When you start tapering, I think you should still be able to trip somewhat from a few hits, considering what you wrote in the original post.

Nice one pps

Oh my days I cant wait to try LSD for the first time off mirtazapine its going to be like a completely different thing then.
Considering I felt really stimulated whenever I took it on mirtazapine and would see a slight change in vision.

Gonna try 2 drops when completely sober and hopefully go into another dimension, im hoping to completely trip out like I have done on Ketamine only i'm hoping it will last 8-12 hours like acids meant to.

It most likely has a lot to do with the stigma associated with LSD in the 60's and onwards. The myths that have been circulating since those days is mainly what I'm talking about. I don't recall any of this anti-hippy myth bullshit about mushrooms, which is why I would say they are considered a much cleaner and natural experience, although personally I've always enjoyed LSD more.

I agree with TangerinO. The stigma came from the PR attack on most drugs used by the "hippies".

Right now I am in hell cause I suffer from cluster headaches and ergot/lsd based drugs can abort the attack cycles. I have to suffer using normal meds (which do not work at all and cost up to 300 buck for 9 pills) as my only defense. My life sucks ass when in cycle and I have used shrooms and lsd to abort a cycle before when I would find them and they did the trick each time.

But of course I have to break a law to heal myself all because some stuck up r-tards wanted to flex their muscle at the masses.

LSD I guess will always be tied to people killing themselves or putting babies in microwaves and all the other urb an legends out there that have been a stain on LSD.

But you won't hear the story of people who suffer a medical condition that use it to heal their pain.

So if you ever hear some stupid @$$ talking about how bad LSD is you can send them to me and I will sit them down on my lap and teach them just how good they can be!!

Mmm... I now have a very pleasing image of you (who I'm obviously equating with the bewinged ladygirl in your avatar in the absence of evidence to the contrary) sitting folks down on your lap for a lesson in Goodnessesses =D<3=D

I remember when the cops used to come round to the school and show the kids their briefcase full of drugs. I remember being fascinated. Why was a fungus was being paraded around by policemen as an example of something shady and dangerous? And these little colourful squares of paper. Why was something so innocent-looking so menacing to society? It's like telling your kids that the man in the ice-cream van is a monster. Then of course the kids would go and tell their peers, and imaginations would fly, and the result would be the urban legends we know.

Thats terrible, cluster headaches sound like absolute hell. I saw on the doco Inside LSD that theyre working on a non-psychoactive version of LSD - hopefully they start producing it soon. I wonder how easily it could be turned back into LSD... might be good for all of us.

Also, could you use LSA which is easily available in HBW or Morning Glory seeds or would that not work?

I remember a anti-drugs talk/thing when I was as really young at school and when I saw a tiny colourful square bit of paper that you put on your tongue and was warned you'd see mad shit and basically go insane.
It just put ideas in my head of how cool it would be to take and as a kid I always used to draw pictures of people taking drugs and being wrecked.

Nice.
You seem like fun. =D

i distinctly missed out on this at childhood, but can see how this could almost have become an advert for the curious child...

and oh what the curious child will come to find!

i think LSD has a bad rep because it is an incredibly powerful psychedelic that can make you temporarily crazy; throwing up everything you thought you knew and then taking you back down. naturally, this intense experience is not for the small minded... in the words of another bluelighter, "psychedelics are not for everyone"
