Not sure what you mean.... but there are many people using 1mg BMT [or less]and do get "jack shit"... mainly avoidance of WD's and [if you want] can occasionally use other opiates and feel them nicely and go back to subs before wd's kick in. There are also people [on bmt] who post in this thread who IV less than 1mg subs and say they like it very much.

im not arguing with anyone saying that 1mg of sub is still enough to kick you, it was kind of my point

i tapered down to that, with success, and was completely cool, no wds or any shit (IMO i dont think you get any WD effects unless your either quitting completely or you still get down on at least 3-4 mg daily) pretty manageable to say the least so i agree

It is very hard to use bupe throughout the week and not get addicted. The first time I became addicted, I was taking 2 - 3 day breaks between doses and they didn't work.

I'm on 8mg a day and have been now for around 4 years. I did get down to 4mg but for some reason I bounced back . I was never a Heroin user, I started with Tramadol and moved on to poppy pods when they weren't enough.I can't see me ever getting off it, my GP has even become accustomed to the idea of me being a life long user. I rail it every day and was hoping that it was ok to carry on doing that?, I've not suffered any ill effects from doing so in 4 years. Just seems so normal to me but to anyone else it looks horrible and I have to do it in secret.

Is it ok to carry on snorting it?

I like buprenorphine a lot, it's believable to me because of how long a single pill lasts me.

We can't post prices though, but that is commonly paid for where I am from too. Some people really like it better than other opiates. It's just individual differences though.

Haha so I just opened a film package today and found two strips in there. Last week I got one that had nothing in it and that was after the pharmacy gave me an extra film package. Suboxone film is fun! Ya never know what you're gonna get!

That is fucking insane. When you get the pills they aren't individually wrapped so nothing like that can happen. The pharmacy could short you, but it's not like the manufacturer could make an empty pill. They could make one without the buprenorphine in it, but that is way less likely than what happened to you.

That's pretty fucking retarded too, I'll make sure to ask for the pills explicitly if I ever go back to a buprenorphine doctor.

^ i'll second that.. (the part about people liking bupes effects) i know i enjoy them @.5-1mg doses after a couple days off of them, but if i dose to many days in a row i need to keep the dose real low (like .25-.5mg day) or else i get no effect besides a little energy.

I would consider using a micron filter to create a solution that you can use in a nasal spray pump; this way, you will spare your nose the inactive ingredients. Additionally, it will be easier on your nasal lining than the crushed up tablet by itself.

i always wondered if it was just me, but i just dont see the point to iv or snort it. when i USED snort and shoot bupe/nalt, i wasnt serious about becoming undependant. prople give me shit becuase my family has money or that i get out of any trouble i get it. FUCK, its harder to stay off being spoiled i think (at times i think of buying a gram).

Naloxone is in Suboxone, not naltrexone.

Most people use another ROA, whether it be snorted, plugging, IM, or IV, to increase the effects by a higher BA, to conserve an expensive medication or to use less so they have enough medication to share with a loved one, to decrease the time until onset, or because of other possible side effects such as nausea/vomiting before the tablet has gotten a chance to disintegrate.

They list the flavoring as "Acesulfame Potassium sweetener and a lemon/lime flavor".

In the strips, they have an even more elusive description for the white ink as, "white ink".

This is right at the 48 hour mark since my last dose of oxy. Last night (8-10hours ago) i ate half the suboxone. I figured from my previous experencies this would be nightmare withdrawls. I figured my legs would be flopping around and i would have the squirts but NOTHING. think it was the half the sub i ate last night? I still have another half incase I start feeling like shit. Maybe I wont feel like crap. I dunno

Also how would you compare plugging 4mg to the sublingual route?

Oxycodone is really short lived when you IV it. Unless you went through *a lot* of them either by using huge doses or doing one half to one pill every 30 to 40 minutes, I wouldn't expect 2 weeks of IVing it to give you super-serious withdrawals.

4mg of buprenorphine should last you a nice duration; the fact that you don't feel really bad is a good sign.

Take only 2mg next time to see if this is what will hold you from the withdrawals. If it does, then you will have another 2mg for later, or you can start breaking that down into 1mg or less.

I haven't plugged buprenorphine, but the duration is likely to be at least somewhat shorter though the onset of effects will be slightly less. I would stick to the sublingual route if it works for you. However if you are going to switch to plugging so as to make the pill last you longer (like plugging half as much on the same time table) then I understand your reasoning.

Hopefully another Bluelighter will be able to fill you in on plugging buprenorphine. There is a thread about it here, so you may read more about this.

IV subs

I know a lot of people search for info on IVing subs and there is a lot of contradictory posts about it. I thought I would throw in my experience. I HATE the feeling that I get from IV subs. I have done it maybe a half dozen times. the first time I got the dreaded precipitated WDs, it was the worst feeling Ive ever had in my life. but that was my fault because I didnt wait long enough after IV oxycodone. (I only waited 10 hrs). the other times I did it I had been on ONLY suboxone for a while. I tried a quarter of a pill first. I IVd it, and I got a terrible feeling for about a half hour. my heart started beating really fast instantly, incredible anxiety and just an overall shitty feeling. and once that feeling wore off I didnt feel any type of high from the sub, basically I guess it would have been the same feeling as taking it sublingual. the other times I tried to do less and less, and always got the same shitty feeling even with a tiny peice (maybe .5mg). overall I know everyone is different, but for me personally I would never IV suboxone ever again no matter what. I usually take them sublingual but I have gotten great results snorting them too. I would say if you dont wanna take them sublingual, snorting is the best option.

I switched from IV oxycodone to IV buprenorphine within a matter of 4 to 6 hours and it worked fine for me. It was just a one time experience for me; I didn't have any tolerance to oxycodone, even after this one dose.

I guess everyone is different. I don't blame you for not liking it, if other ROA's work better for you, then stick with what works.

this is a really stupid question... but why is it that you will go into precip WD if you have dope in your system and then take subs, but not the other way around?

because buprenorphine binds stronger to the opiate receptors than the H.. so it has the power to rip it off the receptors.. leaving you with the bupe on your receptors which is only a partial agonist so from going from full agonist(dope) to partial(bupe) you will go into precip. w/d's. IF you are opiate dependent.
If you take H after bupe, the bupe just blocks it from the receptors.

I have been on Sub since this past December 2nd. I am up to 28mg/day now and was never on a low dose. I decided to have some fun this weekend so I got 7 dexedrine 10mg and 2x12mg hydromorphcontin. I was not sure if I would even get a rush from the hyrdomorph but GOD DAMN. I shot the entire 24mg in one go and I got the best rush I have gotten in a very, very long time. The high is setting in comfortable now and I'm perspiring, flushed, and definitely opiated big time.

Now, I live in Canada so I have to go to a Methadone clinic each morning to receive my dose of Sub. On the weekend I get to go to the pharmacy any time of day I wish. They do not watch you like a hawk at the pharmacy to make sure you take your medication so I had been slipping most of my dose in my pocket and would take, say 8mg on the weekend.

This weekend I took 2mg on Saturday and pocketed the other 26mg I'm prescribed. Then I shot about 6mg of Sub with an antihistamine the evening of the same day. Then today I did not take any of my prescribed dose and pocketed it all. It is now about 1:45am here and I did the shot about 5 minutes ago.

I was so concerned I wouldn't get a rush so I waited as long as I possibly could. I would have saved them but I will get at least 1 strike for these uses over the weekend (benzos, the dexis, and the hydromorph - my boyfriend has been benzo'd out all day and is passed out hard right now ).

I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW WELL THIS WORKED!!! I was totally unsure because I have been reading so much about the topic and people on a low dose (under 8 or way less) could get high around 24hrs after Sub. Well fuck - I'm on a daily dose of 28mg except for on the weekends! I just can't believe it!!! I am so happy this worked. I'm gonna be noddin off like no other reaaaaal soon here I imagine...

Only downside is that I start my new job in the morning at 8am (about 6 hours from now) and this is the first time I'll be working again since April because of addiction. Just wish I had of saved 1 or 2 of those dexedrine for tomorrow in case I'm burnt the fuck out - oh well, caffeine and energy drinks it'll be! %)

I cannot believe that just over this short amount of time with such a high dose of Sub that I got a gigantic rush and what I can tell by ten minutes in is going to be a very satisfying high.

SUMMARY::: I've been on Suboxone maintenance for almost 3 months, at high doses, and am currently at 28mg/day. I waited just over 24 hours and IV'd 24mg of hydromorphcontin and have no negative effects, no blocking effects of the hydro, nothing. I feel like I haven't been on Subs and just did a normal shot.

If you read my post a few pages back you'll notice that I experienced the exact same effect as you, only I was shooting heroin as opposed to hydromorphcontin (which is Palladone correct?).

In theory, buprenorphine should have such a high binding affinity to your opioid receptors that no matter what you do, you won't experience a rush or even a high. The only thing your doing is increasing your chance of an overdose, your more likely to suffer from respiratory depression and the other harmful side-effects. I'm not sure how much hydromorphcontin you'd have to bang without Suboxone in your system, but it would be interesting to know if the dose you took is 1x, 2x, 3x or even 4x what you would normally take to get high.

On the contrary to the theory like I said, I can definitely confirm that it's possible to shoot through Suboxone, even if you're on a very high dose. In my case I'm prescribed 24mg a day. One day I took 16mg and then got an itch for some dope. So roughly 2-3 hours later I did a decent size shot and felt very close the full-effects of the rush and high. It's strange that this can happen – Suboxone is designed specifically so it won't work like that but I've learned it does.

A word of warning: I bounced back and forth between Suboxone and heroin like that for 7-months. I could take 1-4mg of Suboxone and then feel the full-effects of heroin, and the Suboxone lasts so long that I'd never get dopesick. It was great until I tried to get back on Suboxone for good and stop using dope. I stopped using the last few days in January and have felt like utter shit for a whole month (today is technically one month, but I slipped up maybe 3 or 4 times during that month). I'm just now starting to feel a bit better. Going back and forth "topping-off" or whatever you may call it is dangerous. Try to stick with one or the other. I know you wanted a little vacation and I totally get that, so don't think I'm dogging on you or nothin Cause I'd do/did the same. Just letting you know what I went through.


Oddly enough, I only took 16mg of Suboxone today (instead of my usual 24mg) and now I'm nodding off pretty hard, which is weird. It's not that "I'm gonna close my eyes and float through heaven" nod, but I'm not complaining. Or the Suboxone could be having a synergistic effect with my lack of sleep. Hopefully I continue to feel as well as I did today with my Suboxone, then my life can get back to some semblance of normalcy and I won't have to go the methadone route.

I'm sorry but I have to comment on this. There isn't anything anywhere that says there is a time table for getting clean, nor is there any evidence that there should be a time table for Opioid Replacement Therapy. If he isn't ready to come off of Suboxone, then so be it, the least we as a society can do is provide him a safer alternative to illicit drug use and all the crap that comes with that. If his goal is simply to not use anymore street drugs, or drugs in a legal gray area than I fully support that. I would recommend to him that at some point he might want to come off of Suboxone, but if he doesn't want to or doesn't feel he's ready I fully support his decision, and would still be there to support him when/if he chooses to get off of Suboxone. That's the tricky part with this addiction, it's so powerful that sometimes people simply never feel *ready* to pursue sobriety. I completely support that because it obviously falls in line with harm reduction. Sobriety and harm reduction are not mutually exclusive, they are fully able to work together to help drug addicts become functioning members of society – whether they choose to remain in Opioid Replacement Therapy or choose to try and become sober.

Sorry grizz, that wasn't directed at you in a bad way and I'm not trying to call you out, I'm just using what you said to show that our society needs to think a little clearer when it comes to how we treat people who struggle with drug addiction.
