Is it just me or is there a significant difference between taking a dose over the course of an hour or so compared to taking it all at once?
When I take robogels I've recently been spacing out the dosage over the course of an hour (2 gels every 5 minutes) and it seems very less dissociative and more.... mindfucky.
I've discussed this with a few other friends and they say it happens to them as well.

Anyone else notice this?

There is a reason for this I think. DXM is metabolized into DXO (I think that is the name of it?) which is a more potent NMDA antagonist (which causes dissociation). Taking it all at once will result in more DXO, but spreading it out with result in less because redosing won't be as effective in metabolizing the DXM into DXO, and DXM has less NDMA antagonist properties and more serotonergic properties, so there will be more DXM active than there would be compared to dosing all at once. I am not 100% sure that that is all correct, but I was reading about it the other day, and that is my understanding on the matter.

That makes sense. Do you have the source where you read this at? I've been looking all over the internet for some kind of information on this but couldn't find anything.

I never heard anyone "space" their dosage out on dxm pills, your suppose to take however many at one time, otherwise you won't feel it, since your taking the robo gels, you have to take a little more since they only have 15mg of dxm, i have done dxm so many times, and would always gag because i hated swallowing so many pills, or drinking nasty cough syrup, but if you can i would take 16 of those pills, for a real good but not overally intense trip, i took 35 of those, and threw up, and spent the whole trip searching for a lost cigarette

The reason I space it out is because I've gotten pretty bad anxiety from too many bad trips, plus the nauseousness that comes along with taking in all that cough syrup at once is unbearable.

And you can trip when you space it out. I unintentionally hit a third plateau one time because I kept popping robogells all day trying to hit a second plateau. I was tripping so hard that I didn't even realize how many I had taken, lol

There is a very large DXM guide located on Erowid that I was reading that talked about DXM, its effects, and its other 2 metabolites effects, DXO and some other one that is responsible for inhibiting the metabolization of DXM into DXO when redoisng. Not complete inhibition, but some. But, yeah, it is on Erowid.

dxm is very dangerous people dont realize that, but its common sense if u have to take so many pills or drink so much cough syrup its real bad for you, my liver is messed up, and the only thing i can blame is triple c's aka dxm, and other forms of dxm, plus i threw up alot on that shit while my best friend never did.

DXM isn't that dangerous. Also, the number of pills or amount of cough syrup is in no way linked to how dangerous it is. What if a manufacturer made a small dose of something harmless (like melatonin)? If you took 50 pills to fall asleep, does that mean it's bad/dangerous for you? Triple C's also contain another active ingredient which certainly changes the trip, at least for me. Robo gels feel far different than coricidin (coricidin is also quite dangerous, read up on it)

In any case, I think the the DXM/DXO explanation accounts for the differences in effect when dosing. I would personally rather spread it out because of the nausea and anxiety (which is somewhat helped with dramamine/diphenhydramine) but then again I enjoy being dissociated.
