Hi everyone,
I greatly enjoy going to clubs/raves, and I often go with a group of friends. Previously we would all generally roll, but since I seem to be the only one of them to suffer any negative effects from our frequent use, i've decided to stop rolling for another couple of months.
I've gone to a few events since i've stopped, but i've found that my energy has generally petered out a little while before everyone else's.

Does anyone have any tips to prolong my stay on the dance floor? I'm not going to do any drugs, but I generally drink at least a little bit when i go out.

I found that part amusing lol

But you could try some energy drinks, yerba mate, or anything that will stimulate you in the least bit. I would personally try out some LSD, but idk if you are into that.

Like Freehugs suggested maybe try something different that's not as harsh on your body but you did state you didn't want to do any drugs.

If you're going to be sober go in with an open mind, its actually a really different experience to rave without any sort of chemicals in your system. Energy drinks definitely help keep you awake but the best advice is to go and make yourself have a good time. Don't dwell on the fact that you're sober but instead focus on having fun and the different experience it is. As stupid as that sounds.

I attend alot of raves mostly or completely sober, because I'm part of a production company, and I often have to work the door/security/concessions/etc, and i dont want to be fucked up for that. I find that i often prefer to spend time around the back of the venue, or outside, talking to people and listening to the music, as opposed to being right in the middle of the dance floor. I'll generally spend at least a little time dancing, because it gets your adrenaline pumping and also dumps some dopamine and seratonin into your system, but it is no longer the focus of the night. Energy drinks definitely help, but i prefer the energy shots, because they last longer and are less harmful to your system than caffiene.

cant you just enjoy the lights music? Why do we have to tell you how to have fun at the events? Its not like anyones forcing you to go to them...

You do enjoy raves right? How is that not enough.

If you cant have fun dont go.

qft

Yerba mate or Guarana would be really good for stamina.

But yeah, just don't dance too hard - take enough breaks - orange juice provides a good boost too!!

SOber raving - I know what you mean, it is harder for some reason - I generally find I get a "stitch" a lot quicker when I'm sober, which is probably a good thing - breathing through your nose is a way to make sure you have enough stamina too - not through your mouth.

Similar situation next weekend.

Wanna save the 'good roll' for the big weekend AFTER so this up-coming event I'm planning to go sober (or hell, maybe drunk... ;) )

I'm planning on using energy drinks... or maybe just a little ket :D

Alright after further examination, I see your dilema...but honestly if your getting tired at the end of these events you need to either:

-prep a whole day resting and eating right, then fueling on caffeine like crazy
-Plan to arrive later so you have more time to rest and save energy
-Plan to leave earlier
-accept that you don't have the same artificial level of energy as your friends

Honestly I dont know how ANYONE can dance all night non stop at these events without being on some sort of stimulant. Its just unrealistic. Raves are like a non stop work-out.

The problem is your friends are just as tired as you...they just wont realize it until the day after when they feel like shit because the stims have wore off.

I cant count the number of times I have pushed to keep up with my friends while sober...just dancing super hard for hours trying to fit in and not be the odd man out who looks like hes not having fun. I tank on caffeine and just deny my symptoms, but even after being sober the next day Ill wake up and still feel like I had a comedown.

Its exhaustion...it sounds like you need another sober friend to chill with or leave early when your friends are continuing to go hard.

A beautiful example of this is a friend of mine. Four of us went to an afterhours club last Saturday. The club is open from 4a.m.-8a.m. 3 of us rolled and our fourth friend went completely sober.

It was hilarious(in a good way) watching her because she was having as much fun as everyone else. I'd see her shuffling, giving light shows, and fitting in with anyone and everyone. She drank a redbull halfway through the night, but other than that she didn't have even alcohol in her system.

I've always preached that MDMA is a supplement for a good time and not the cause for one. I have been to raves sober before and it's a blast. I roll because in a way, it's a treat to myself. I work hard in school, the gym, and in life in general so it's nice to take a break from reality to enjoy myself for that occasional night once a month.

I guess to sum it up:
-Try to forget you're sober. Electronic Music has a way(at least with me) of giving me a natural high
-You're there to have a good time, go do it!
-Don't sit around and do nothing, you'll get more tired being bored sitting down than dancing the whole night.
-If you drink, don't drink too much. Don't try and mask the feeling you aren't rolling by getting drunk. You'll just end up getting tired and passing out.

-dance! don't just listen to the music... EXPLORE it, find out whos spinning, what genre (incase it is different from what u know of/thought it was)
-Watch poi spinners or ppl getting light shows!
-Conversate with current friends & make new ones
-take photos and get ur picture taken
-flyer the event & cars with other events you are supporting (if you are a promoter as I and many others are)

I attend all raves sober atm and I will continue to do so.
Although this friday is my frinds BDAY, and I am gonna be his roll/trip sitter.
(I am so excited DJ FAUSTO, PHIL YORK, and many other fantastic headliners coming out to ROCK the AZ dance floor :)

thanks guys-

i'm not a promoter, but i'm close to a group of promoters/djs, and i've recently started djing myself.

I'm presuming you usually do mdma or ecstasy? If so - perhaps look into using other drugs? Perhaps look into ghb or ketamyne (do NOT mix though - many people I know have had BAD experiences with that). When I go to raves, those are the other drugs (besides mdma) that are used. Mdma is my favourite though, by far.

ALSO if you are looking for a better comedown (after mdma), I have found mdma first and then ghb after is great. Don't use too much (and learn more about ghb because it *can* be dangerous) but, in moderation, it works great. The first few times I did mdma, I had a terrible five day comedown kind of thing. But then I was introduced to G *and* I use it after mdma every time - I don't know the reasoning behind it, but it's amazing. AND if you use them at the same time, sometimes you can feel the most AMAZING feeling in the entire world.

My only real advice is don't go all out at the beginning of the party. Save your energy otherwise you're not going to make it through the 8+ hour party.

Hmmm.. I've been to more raves sober than I have on drugs, and I've got to say... staying awake at the end is tough! The older I get, the tougher it gets too. Either way, those 5 hour energy things work ok, I also try and take a nap later in the afternoon if I can. Can you get any Adderall? I'm not talking about snorting lines or doing a large recreational dose like 60 mgs. 5 or 10 mgs Time Release keeps me awake, but I don't feel speedy at all... it's like I'm completely sober.
