I went in to my doctor today and told him: I need more Oxy. He said "I have you a months supply, it's only been 3 weeks." I said "I am physically dependent on them, so when I feel the cold sweats come on I take some. Then when I feel pain I take more. And often times it ends up being twice as much as you prescribed. I don't want to be dependent, and I am willing to taper, but for right now, I need more."
So he doubled my scip, ordered the pharm to dispense half now at double dose, half in 2 weeks at a reduced dose, and said "BTW, if you run out of these early, I won't be here in a couple of weeks so you will have to suffer the WDs. Keep that in mind."
I love my doc so much.
My point is, being honest can often be helpful. If your doctor thinks you are lying or trying to game the system you might have less to no luck. If you are open and honest, you might get the support (and drugs) you need.
