DDL (the California testing lab) is an absolute joke. Half of their results are given as 'Unidentified'. They've openly admitted that they cannot identify MDPV (see here and here) or 4-MEC (see here).

What's to say that the green stars didn't contain a combination of MDMA + MDPV?

Oh, and can you tell me how many results DDL have ever published for mephedrone? (go to EcstasyData.org, then click on 'test result statistics', then click on 'substances by year', and scroll down until you get to '4-Methylmethcathinone'. Then click on the numbers.)

No. What I expect to see is people with massive ecstasy-smiles on their faces; people hugging each other; people in the seating areas giving each other massages; people sniffing Vicks inhalers; people on the dancefloor whistling, clapping, shouting out, putting their hands in the air, and dancing like they're hypnotised by the music; strangers talking to each other like they've been friends for years. Well I'm sorry, but I don't see any of that anymore.

I can assure you I do not go to The Printworks. The club I go to most often has a long-held reputation for quality house and techno, and 10 years ago was full of people on ecstasy (not that you'd know that, seeing as you only started going clubbing about 3 years ago).

They can still tell that it's MDMA only because when they look at the ion spectrum they can qualify that all the peaks of MDMA are present and in the correct ratios. They would notice if other chemicals were present even if they couldn't identify them.

Maybe this BBC article will lay this stupid argument to rest -- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-12480310 "They showed the benefits of painkillers could be boosted or completely wiped out by manipulating expectations." -- the placebo affect alone is enough to make a massive difference in the effects of drugs. This alone renders this whole fucking debate null and void, the end.

Well have you ever seen DDL publish a result as 'MDMA x : Unidentified y' ?
 
So what? I'm saying that the MS technique can detect when other substances are present. It's a safe assumption that they would mention an unknown substance which was also present...

Why is it a 'safe assumption'? I have never seen any examples of this.
 
Yeah because it never happens, contrary to what you think there isn't a huge conspiracy where mysterious shit gets added to all our pills and kept secret from us. And no the test centres aren't all "in on it". :)

Yes there is!!! If the criminals who make our pills can get away with putting cheap shit in them, then they will do. And they can get away with it because we don't have testing-labs in the UK.

Minus the vicks and the whole seating area massaging, that's still present. It may just be your area or events you go to. I was at an event a few weeks back and it was exactly as you described. :)

Exactly, I was gonna say the same thing. I really don't get out enough, mostly home grown fun these days, but that's changing this year... the last club night out I had was in Edinburgh late last year where I saw one of the originals...Steve Lawler. Great night, and everything MDMAhead misses bar the vics and the massage was there. I never got the massage bit myself, and never really saw it. It's in the same category as dummies and belongs in the US for me.

MDMAhead...you ever get down to Illuminaughty? That's a wild place, and one I intend to visit this year but heard a lot about on other forums. You may just see most of what you miss there. Not for a few months though sadly...

The one this weekend just passed was amazing, they're the best club nights by far in my book. Ironically, it sounds like the people whinging probably aren't contributing much to the atmosphere in the club themselves...
 
one thing i noticed the other weekend in Liverpool was when a friend of a friend offered me some "mud". Now, mud to most is common terminology for MDMA yes? well, matey in the club gave me some of this stuff and it was like a white mushy paste, i threw caution to the wind and necked it. It tasted exactly like the white piperazine mercedes that were going round a year or so ago, i know this because i got one lodged in the roof of my mouth once (not a pleasant experience i assure you).

This particular group were a good few years younger than me (21 or so) and one of the girls in particular i know it to have been her first times taking "pills", which in itself has become a collective term for anything that gets you fucked up. She was saying to me that she was "well fucked" and really enjoyed it.

I lol'd.
 
^ so did you get piped then? Did you manage to dodge the pipe-syndrome or got away with it?
 
I have linked to the correct thread for this discussion, please please stop derailing this thread. Infractions are going out to those who continue to do so, this thread is to talk about current pills. Really getting tired of this it's like banging your head against a wall only more boring.

To reiterate anyone continuing to derail this thread after ignoring the previous few requests will receive infractions. I think agreeing to disagree and shutting the fuck up is the best solution here or if you will continue being so obsessive to at least keep it out of this thread you are preventing actual harm reduction/burying it under mountains of useless theorising.
