MDMA = Molly? Is it the same?

Ok so this is probaly a dumb question but every person I've asked has said something different. I tried 'molly' 3 years ago and took it by licking my finger, sticking it in this little white envelope of what looked like salt and licked my finger. It tasted like pure arsenic but I choked it down and felt like I was floating all around the rooms and just stared at walls and wasnt very social. I just wanted to touch the walls. Anyways- a couple months ago I took 'MDMA' and it was in a capsule and seemed white with what looked like dirt in it (brownish/amber) and we cracked open the capsules dumped it in a little Dixie cup of water and also put the empty capsule in it and swallowed it and rinsed the cup and drank more until we were sure we had gotten it all. About a half hour later my vision started vibrating and when people talked to me It echoed throughout my head and whenever I would try to talk my sentences came out so fast no one could understand me. We later went to a bar and I danced by myself for maybe 7 hours and didn't get tired at all. Im wondering if my reaction to the MDMA was weird because I had been prescribed adderall for a little over a year and maybe it caused the vibrations and echoes. But I did have the time of my life. Anybody have any explanation for why that happened if Molly and MDMA are supposedly the same thing?

Sometimes you roll harder than other times. Not all the trips are going to be the same. You could have also had a different substance mixed in with the mdma or a different substance all together. But yes MDMA is MDMA. no matter what form
 
Nope, that's normal. The first stuff you did sounded like it may have an adulterant in it, were you paranoid or anything like that? The second time sounds to me like you may have had amphetamines or caffeine in it - that would explain the dancing for 7 hours and not getting tired.
 
What happened is neither substance was tested so you don't know exactly what was in your molly / MDxx (a shorthand meaning any popular ecstasy type drug -- MDMA, MDA, MDEA / MDE, MBDB, etc). The truth of the matter is ecstasy is supposed to be MDA or MDMA pressed into a pill in most people's opinions. Molly is shorthand for "molecule" and means the chemical in ecstasy -- supposedly MDMA, although MDA and MDEA and considered acceptable (or better) substitutions by some.

In short, MDMA and molly should be one and the same. Molly is nothing more than slang for MDMA crystals / powder as opposed to pressed pills (ecstasy).

i was wondering the same thing. whenever i've seen Molly its been in a capsule, and whenever i've seen MDMA its been in a tablet of some sort. so I figured they arent the same. i've never tried Molly...heard too many mixed things from my friends about it being inconsistent.
 
The amount of people I've talked to at raves that would not have it that MDMA crystals are theoretically the same as MDMA tablets. They always think the crystals are better quality and generally a smoother ride than pills. I try to explain that MDMA is MDMA no matter if it's in crystal form or been pressed into pills. The only difference is any adulterants that have been added to either product. I know I've bought some MDMA crystals before that I later found out it was cut with granulated sugar!
 
Ecstasy pills that only contain MDMA are the same as crystals, plus a few harmless binders. And despite popular belief, molly is actually easier to cut than pills, because pills can only be cut once. Your friends are just going off an old rumor. Testing is the only way you can know for sure if it's clean or not.
