my first rave

Bless. Your first rave. Lucky bastard. Dont overdo it too early. Bring pants with lots of pockets. Remind yourself of all the good things about your life before you start cos 24 hours of pilling can make remembering them a challenge. And have a ball. Reach for the lasers and parteeee

I'm just now getting hearing problems and I'm only 24, growing up near an army base and being a dj havent been kind to my hearing. I Wear earplugs, I actually wanna hear this music later one in life
I still haven't been to a real rave (only dj'd at house raves and occasionally rolled at said houseraves)
Rolling in a rave enviroment is the best, good vibes all around

Rolling at a rave is only like a MILLION times better than anything else on this planet :D
The music will consume you to a point where you can't even express your happiness (assuming it's music you like), and you'll make friends with every mother fucker in sight ;)

^^^^^ The above 2 comments..... I took a friend who'd never been to a rave before and we rolled. Toward the end of the night he said "Everybody's so nice at a rave" It's moments like those that you remember forever.

The roll itself will be the same as anywhere else but the vibes from the people and the environment of the rave- if they're good- will make it such a wonderfully different experience. The production, like minded people and typically good music all make it worth it.

Conversely, a ton of sketch people, sketch location, and just negative vibes in general can make the roll horrible leaving you feeling like shit and not enjoying it. Its all set and setting, dude.

My advice is go with some friends, be in a good mood with an open mind and just enjoy yourself :)
Oh yeah, be smart too.

Rolling at a rave is amazing. Rolling just with a boyfriend/girlfriend/close friends is pretty amazing too. My first experience at a rave changed my life (seriously). I didn't understand the whole free love thing and everything ... everyone there was just so amazing! I made a gazillion friends. It is just so fun to meet people and stuff. And I had sooo much fun just dancing and everything. Not caring what anyone though. Just having a great time.

Don't get yourself hyped up about it. I mean, it will be lots of fun, for sure, but it is different for everyone. Make sure you have lots of water if you're dancing - well don't overdo it of course. But if you're dancing, you'll be sweating and losing water. Drink water and go to the washroom regularly. Try to have some vitamin water too. I really like to have a vitamin water during the middle of my roll - sometimes I have too much of something and the vitamin water helps out. But it can help give you more energy and stuff and also help for the recovery day!

I've rolled before but i heard its way better at raves... any advice?

Some prefer at home with a close knit group of people and other prefer raves. Raves have the advantage of lights, a large number of people all loved up like you, and (depending on your area) a happy, cheerful vibe.

At home, you have freedom. You play the songs you want to hear, have the roll toys you want (without promoters tossing them), free (or cheap) water, etc. Some promoters put on better raves than others.

Certain styles of music will have people and atmospheres more conducive to rolling, imo as well. Trance, house, happy hardcore, and psytrance parties will be better places to roll than say a dubstep or dnb party (at least where I'm from).

Everything else I think other people have said in one way or another. Stay hydrated. Electrolytic drinks are best (gatorade, powerade) and prevent essentially drowning on water (hyponatremia -- not enough electrolytes from over-consumption of water) while keeping you hydrated simultaneously.

Wear earplugs. Assuming you want to still be able to hear after you're 30.

Sage advice. I can't turn up the volume on my headphones enough anymore :!
