What Tune You Listening To? vs It's only right and natural

Not only their best tune, but one of the best tunes ever. Had the good fortune to be peaking on acid when this came on at an indie night. Thanks for bringing the memory.

No sweat. :)

The Lung is also a favourite of mine from that album.

Dinosaur J! How about some Sebadoh? I wanted to post Skull but no decent vids, so Flame will have to do instead.

The only Sebodoh album I have is Harmacy, and I haven't listened to it in ages. Perhaps it's time?.

Tribal Girl, I never thanked you for the Regina Spektor recommendation. Begin to hope is superb.

Oh gosh, that's another one I haven't listened to in ages. Great stuff, it just reminds me of bad times. Therefore I'm kinda reluctant to listen to it. :\

And you're more than welcome btw. :)

Autoclave - Go Far

You've just educated me there. I'd always known of them, but never really dipped in.

Her voice is just so natural; no affectation whatsoever, and that guitar tone that comes in around the 2:40-ish mark is sublime, nothing less.

Bryan MacLean - She Looks Good

Saccharine, yes. Do I repent? No. The fact that the tapes stayed in his mother's garage just adds to the poignancy, but then again I am a sentimental git. Especially when the booze and benzos flow.

I'm sure we've had this conversation before....

Love - Alone again or

I'll never forget seeing Arthur Lee with full orchestra when he played Newcastle probably about 6/7 years ago (cant remember exactly) on his 'just released from jail need some money tour', my Dad took me to see him as a present for me when I was visiting back up north, as i'd not seen my Dad in months. Lee died not long after.

Hey Cherry, your dad played bass with the darkness...? That may not be cool, but having a musician father definitely is... My father on the other hand... well isn't.

Bryan Maclean was never happy with his vocals on alone again or so Lee mixed his harmonies up higher than Bryan's lead, thus changing the song... This is what it was supposed to sound like...

^ He didn't play bass WITH The Darkness, but did some session playing for them.
He's worked with some other musicians behind the scene's and been paid for it too.

Yeah, it's good having a musician as a Dad....not that I saw/see him very often. Always jetting off here and there. He pretty much kept me and my mam going by doing gigs making money doing session work for bands.

I didn't know that about Bryan Maclean's original vocal. I think I agree with him, and prefer Lee's mixed version. I do love the trumpet Solo in Alone again or.

Have you heard the Calexico cover version? It's worth a check out.

Ah two minds meet;)

Oi! Less of that! If anyone met my mind they'd need six months' worth of decontaminaton. :)

And Cherry; would you believe I missed the guy playing in Manchester twice? Once in '02 and again in '04. The former occasion I had a ticket for, but was too erm, 'sleepy' to go, and the latter was during my bearded, agoraphobic wig-out phase. Then the fucker goes and dies. :\

So yeah, I'm insanely jealous. Especially as it was one of the orchestra gigs as they were meant to be immense. Anyone see him on that tour he did with Shack many years ago? That was meant to be pretty good too.

Good taste. I saw Shack in Liverpool years ago. They opened up with "Streets of Kenny". The place went mental. For a brief moment I was one with the scousers.

do any of your posts make sense?
is it just me who can't understand them?

What's not to understand about getting petrol bombed in Kensington? Daily occupational hazard of being a student there. My ex g/f just had the old 'knife to the throat while we ransack your house' there.

And if sense was a pre-requisite to posting here...well, it'd save on the bills I suppose.

Chill Winston. :)

i wasn't meaning to come across a dick hah i just genuinely have a mental block and can't read their posts
