is it illegal to dr shop in australia?
what are the penalties, just black listed?

im not condoning this behaviour nor do a plan to do it.

but i have picked up scriped from a few different surgeries before. very stupid i know. this was long time ago more than 3 months so i know its all clear just still cruious.
just needed a few more benzos at the time know for my GAD. 1 5mg val a day just had NO effect. needed atleast 10mg.


im just curious.

Anon54, I wouldn't worry about Mr Squiggle judging by another thread he just started he may be going through benzo withdrawal, which is a fucking nightmare. It is ironic that he is having a go at you, because he was most likely a doctor shopper himself.

As to answer your question, I'm pretty sure you will not get in any trouble for doctor shopping other than being put on some sort of a database for drug seeking behaviour. Though this is not an area I am that knowledgable about, I am 99.9% you would not go to jail for a year for it, or even be arrested.

Though I have never doctor shopped for recreational purposes, when my insomnia was hardcore I used to get scripts around the same time from different clinics for stilnox. I needed min 3 pills to sleep, one did nothing.

Good luck with your GAD, and don't worry about getting in trouble you haven't abused any system. they are out to find people doing it hardcore, not people getting an extra script or two once.
 
its all good Mr Squiggle. I just tend to worry myself a little bit more than i should about things.
got diagnosed with general anxiety disorder/depression i might give ssris another go.

10 mg doesnt do shit (but dr knows best right...:/) truth be known even a handful of em would only slightly setlle me down. I get kinda manic. & i dont wanna fuck with xanax again which ive bee precribed before to much up, then down.
let me know if uve found anything that can practically help me without just a tempory help

He is on like 5mg to 10mg because isn't abusing it, and is taking it for generalised anxiety disorder (GAD). Those are the thearepeutic doses. but as someone who used to suffer anxiety, 5mg often doesn't cut it.

You are right about one thing, regular benzo use will not cure GAD. Best bet is regularly talking to a psychologist and getting some CBT. Benzos should only be used sparringly when you feel like things are really out of control.

Take it from us, Anon54. Much props go out to you for not abusing your meds like a good boy :). Keep it that way, and withdrawal won't be so bad for you. If 10 mg Diazepam does the trick for you, well then by all means keep on taking it! Diazepam comes in 2 strengths. 2mg and 5mg.

Might I be asking how long have you been on the Valium for?
 
trying to deal with axiety its been a long time since ive had any cuz i know they are only good for short term but I REALLY needed something i felt like i was going crazy so got scripted em again 15mg/day i gtg man

This thread is pretty borderline too. Please no discussion of methods/techniques for doctor shopping. I'll leave it open only so that we can establish the implications and likely penalties for being caught.

It might be worth checking out some of the posts in this thread and looking up the Drugs of Dependance Unit (DDU), reading their publications etc. Benzos and Opiates are monitored.

Anon54 I strongly suggest you find a GP/Psychiatrist you trust and can discuss this with and try to get on a dosage that suits you rather than seeing multiple doctors.

Good luck with your GAD and as others have said stick with 1 Dr..Psych and just be honest.
 
Whether or not medicare picks up on one's activity seems to be largely a matter of chance, like say, importing or exporting proscribed goods etc. I used to go pretty wild; have at least 15 empty endone boxes and 20 empty oxycontin boxes and perhaps triple that total in benzos of every kind, and I've never been contacted by medicare. On the other hand, a friend of mine got oxy's maybe 3 times and got blacklisted.

Wholey fuck are you serious? no shit, about 6 years ago, when i was around 12, i had a major operation on my mouth and was put under a general anesthetic...

Now when i went into the hospital, as far as i was concerned and from what my mum told me, it would pretty much just be like me gettin a drip in my hand and before i know it, i would be out cold... but this wasnt the case...

About an hour n a half? before the operation, they gave me the most discusting liquid, maybe 10 - 20 ml worth, and within say 15 - 20 minutes max my memory started cuttin out... put it this way, i was off my head until i remmeber the drip goin in and then wakin up in the hospital bed after...

Never really questioned what that liquid was and my memory was very vague once it started kickin in (I remember little bits like talkin absulute shit to my mum and the doctors, really on my hole, couldnt stand up on my own n shit) but do you think it could have been ketamine? My mum reckons i was really funny on it :p

Sorry about gettin off topic but im really curious now you've mentioned it...
 
There is some outside use for it. I believe a hospital in Perth have been trialling it and the patients seem to like it.

A family member of mine who was dying of cancer was on K and Morphine in hospital

I might add i DO NOT dr shop if i se drs i tell them if im takeing meds prescribed from another dr

all im saying is that in the past a long time ago i was getssing benzos from a few different surgeries which all the drs know about now because of my honesty. & now i can can scri[ted benzos/pain killers.....


info for ppl out there who are worried. I had to see a counclelloor Mr squigglle i wasnt put fucken put in jalf for a yr.
