Coachella 2011 - April 15-17, 2011

honestly The Strokes have me won atm.
but thats bound to change a few times before the festival
 
I'm stoked for Cage the Elephant, Ratatat, Shpongle, The Chemical Brother's and The Strokes. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Cage the Elephant, but that's just right now.


Weeee. I got my transportation figured out and I'm set for camping now. No more worrying about carrying everything myself. I seriously feel like a little kid.
 
Cage The Elephant was really good at Lolla 2009. I might just see their set this year if they dont conflict with anyone else.

The Chem Bro's are going to be amazing! I think im going to dose with a combo of M1 and 5-MeO-DALT for it too, which should make it extra special :D

Here's hoping we get Random Rab in the Do Lab. Looks like he has a show that friday in NorCal, but is free the next two days! His sets are always out of this world.

I know right? Faster than 07..

So glad the Do Lab is coming back, kinda bummed I didn't spend more time there last year. Dirty South and Infected Mushroom were a total waste of time :|

Eek, im sorry you had to sit through Dirty South and Infected Mushroom.
I skipped Dirty South to go back to my car to grab "something" and stopped on my way at The Do Lab because i heard someone drop this track, which made my friends go "wtf took so long" when I came back, as I literally spent a good 20 minutes dancing when I was supposed to just quickly run to grab something from the car. Ha.

By the time Infected came on I was tripping absolute face off of two hits of liquid L, and when I took one look at them on stage I went "hell no" and turned around to go get a bite to eat and catch Random Rab's set in the Do Lab. Sooooo exactly what I needed at that point.

Word of the wise: Tripping face whilst alone at a packed festival is no bueno.

And good tip. I took mushrooms for the first time last year and if it wasn't for my friends being there, I probably would have freaked the fuck out and ended up curled in the corner of the Sahara tent all night lol

Damn I cant even imagine, I think if it would have been my first time on LSD I would have needed serious medical attention as I would have been going absolute ape shit nuts. I was completely cracked out the entire time, I know it, but I still had major fun, it just would have been nice to have someone there as my anxiety levels were definitely pretty high, even with watching some amazing artists that day.

TBH, trying anything for your first time at a festi isnt the best idea. Really, trying anything new around large groups of people no matter where you are isnt the best idea. You really want to make sure you're comfortable and in control of your setting/substance, and when you're surrounded by thousands of people in an environment where you're really not in control, you run a major risk of having things spiral down on you, which is fun for no one.

My buddy took two doses of liquid and we lost him at Bonnaroo.

I found him about 9 hours later after I seen Tom Petty.
I was walking across a big field that was pretty clear besides a few ppl sitting around.
Anyway I see him about 70 yards away dancing with head phones on and spinning one glow stick (OUT OF HIS FUCKING MIND TRIPPING)

Later when we talked about it we couldn't believe out of 100k people that we'd go walking past each other like that lol. Cause this place is huge.
But he said he was tripping so hard, alone in the Tom Petty crowd that he almost had a panic attack and threw up just trying to make his way out haha.

But once he got into open area he said the edge almost immediately went away.
Huge crowds can generate a lot of energy and it can be pretty overwhelming even being sober. You can't really describe it.

How funny/scary. Idk what it is about tripping people, but ive found that if you, someone you know, or both of you are on any psychedelic and you get lost from each other, you'll probably end up finding each other later on at some point. Idk if this hold to be true for everyone, but its an odd phenomena ive noticed at all the events ive used psychedelics at (which is quite the number of 'em haha).

Ill give you two examples.

At last years Coachella, when I was frying alone, my buddy was also frying and we were supposed to meet up, just so we werent frying alone. Because of the shitty service (ya, the polo fields have the WORST reception ever), we couldnt even get ahold of each other, so we were both pretty lost and out of our minds on heavy doses of LSD. After I stopped searching for him, and realized that my trip was just something I was going to have to work through on my own, we randomly bump into each other! It was odd, it was like our energy was pulling us in together.

This happened again at last years EDC. I was with a group of about 9 people, and most of us were on doses of LSD, ket, MDMA, etc etc. Well, because of the thousands of people, we all got separated for quite some time. It was pretty nerve wracking at first, as it usually is when you lose your group on psychedelics at a large event, but some how we ended up finding each other out of the blue. It was just our tripping energy that brought us together again!

Word of the wise: Make sure you and your group set up meeting times/spots ahead of time. Make multiple ones too, so that if you guys miss each other at one spot, you still have a few more chances to run into each other again.
