Hello all,
Right now I am prescribed 1 2mg Xanax 4 times a day (yes, 8mg, I know...).
Well anyways, I was supposed to go out of town for 2 days but ended up staying for 3 1/2 days. I only brought my prescribed dose, so 8 2mg Xanax, (plus 2 extra pills just incase) then when I heard we were staying for another day I freaked out. I have horrible anxiety in the mornings and panic attacks during the day, so bad it sometimes gets to the point where my hands shake and my heart races so fast that I can't even hold a glass of water...
It was a family trip and I told my aunt what was going on since I know she takes klonopin for anxiety also. Luckily, she had brought more than enough and gave me 4 2mg pills to get me through the day and the 4 hour drive home...
Natural's cliff notes if you don't want to read the above...
I loved the way combining Xanax and Klonopin killed my anxiety while on this family weekend. When I woke up, of course I woke up with my normal anxiety, but decided to try the klonopin my aunt gave me instead. I took 4mg and it really calmed me down for about 6-7 hours. I felt a panic attack coming on so I took a 2mg Xanax and a 2mg Klonopin (I usually take 4mg of Xanax when I get a panic attack) and it actually killed my anxiety for the rest of the day... I couldn't believe it.
I have a doctor's appointment in about 2 weeks to get my Xanax prescription refilled, but now I'm thinking about asking my doctor try me out on 2mg of Xanax twice a day and 2mg of Klonopin twice a day instead of my normal 2mg Xanax 4 times daily... He is a very lenient doctor, but is this heard of? Will the pharmacy question it?
I'm just looking for any information about trying to do this. I'm thinking of telling him about how the Klonopin worked great for my general anxiety and how the Xanax works for my panic attacks.
Please don't flame me for taking so much Xanax, I know the dangers and have got off it before (for 7 months) but couldn't deal with the anxiety.
I'm looking for advice on how to approach my doctor about this idea and if it is possible... I don't mind paying extra for the prescriptions since my insurance will cover it, so that's not a problem.
Any input would be great. Thank you all.
