I haven't had a cigarette in almost a month. I haven't inhaled ANY tobacco smoke in that time either. I wondered if mixing tobacco with my marijuana in a spliff would cause me to want to start smoking cigarettes again. This would not be regular, just once in a while.

Are you a regular bud user? I smoke and I know drinking, or doing any kind of drug always makes me want to smoke. Honestly if you quit smoking I wouldn't do it. Just smoke the weed! Also it depends on other things like how addicted you were to cigs, and how long you smoked them for.

I smoked them from around right after my 16th birthday which was about 2 years and 4 months ago to 2 AM on New Years Day. I smoked on average from half a pack to 3/4s of a pack a day. I quit with patches but now only use the patches on the days I feel stressed which has for the last week only been one or two days. and yeah, I only tried weed 3 times then didnt smoke bud for 2 and a half years cause of probie. I got off about 3 months ago and have been smoking bud just about everyday since.

I don't have an urge for spliffs, sometimes I just feel like smoking weed late at night can put me to sleep before I'd like and tobacco was what helped me stay awake.

Well why don't you just slap a couple patches on and smoke the weed? I mean that's basically the same thing right?

Haha, this is a pretty goofy thread. We don't know if it will make you addicted again, but most likely doing that will make you crave tobacco again.

I mean, it is up to you. But that is like saying you were addicted to coffee, and then asking if making an irish coffee in the morning will make you crave coffee. Of course it will, you are getting the substance, just with something you like added to it (which will probably make you think of the negative effects even less.) Just my two cents :p

Hard to say. I used to be a cigarette smoker. Nowadays, I only smoke weed (but I roll my joints with tobacco). I actually quit smoking cigarettes, by and large, by replacing each cigarette I'd smoke with a joint or a bong hit. The tobacco in there, for me, is just a mixer and does not make me crave cigarettes at all.
You can minimize the effects of the nicotine by lightly "toasting" your tobacco beforehand.

But the tobacco in weed, for me, was always separate from, well, cigarette tobacco. However, I was never really addicted to nicotine, but smoking (and that's why replacing cigarettes with joints was so effective).

there are a great number of delicious and smooth tobacco replacements, such as rose petals, Knaster make a hemp blend, and theres generally some in every headshop.

you dont need to fill your splifftas out with tobacco.

The only delicious and smooth ones I've come across are certain plants hand-picked from a forest. Most smoking mixes - especially Knaster - taste real nasty in my opinion and mask the taste of the weed, much more than a small amount of toasted tobacco does.

Lol if your going to quit tobbaco and only smoke joints, it's pretty pointless if your going to be rolling and mixing with tobbaco.

Just roll straight green mate. Will kick your ass alot harder :)

I would just stick with the green. Then again I don't think you could develop any physical addiction to you old friend nicotine by just putting a little tobacco in with a buch of weed. You got to remember nicotine in you spliff or not, you will always have that craving(mental addiction) for nicotine.

I used to smoke cigarettes pretty heavily and used to crave them as much as I crave bud. then I quit bud and cigs for about 3 months. I picked up the cigs before the weed and craved em like I used to when I quir but didn't smoke nearly as much as I did. Then I picked weed back up and started blazing like I used to and after that I wasn't even craving cigs. Me craving a cigarette after picking weed back up is like being stuffed at the dinner table but you still want those last few bites of your delicious dinner. I'll still be full and satisfied wether I take those bites or not. Hope that made since.

so how much of your desire for spliffs is because you reeeeeeeeally want a cigarette and youre using spliffs as a sort of loophole?

for me, as an ex smoker, after a tobacco joint i definitely notice over the next few days that i crave nicotine. its like you notice it when you see someone smoking in the street or on telly and you think 'oh that looks nice i want one'.

alternatives are obviously smoking bongs or pipes or getting nicotine free tobacco which is revolting.

good luck!

The first time I quit and tried spliffs I went right back into cigarettes. The next time I quit (successfully) I didn't smoke any tobacco for over 2 years and now I can safely say that I can hit the spliff once in a while and not crave tobacco. So, I would say stay away from any form of tobacco for at least 2 years before you try it again, or simply never again, if you don't have the "non-smoker" mentality installed by that point.
