Methadone dosing question

Hey all I've just got a question for you guys. I got ahold of some methadone 130 mg bottle and I drank 30 ML (45-55mg give or take i think) from the bottle and it does say 130mg and was sealed so I know how much is in there. I've only taken methadone once and I took around 30-40 mg around 4 days ago. I do have a tolerance to opioids, my DOC was oxycontin and taking around 100-160 mg daily but I have gone up to 240mg once before.

My question is do you think around 50 mg of methadone will be relatively safe for someone like me with my opioid tolerance?

Also is it important to have a tolerance to METHADONE when you take it to be safe or is it also safe if you have a tolerance to other opioids and take it. If you dont understand this question I can try and word it out better.

According to the dosage calculator, 24mg of methadone = 160 mg of oxycodone, taken orally. Not sure how accurate that is, but I could see it being close. Anyways if that is the case, 50mg would equal 320 mg of oxy, which would be too much based on your tolerance. I take 75mg daily of methadone, and I cna do hundreds of mg of oxy and not feel a thing, even after not taking my 'done for three days.

As for you case, I think 50mg may be a little too much. Also, please make sure to wait atleast 4-6 hours before re-dosing, and the come up time is quite long for methadone. People can take some, then take more an hour later cuz they don't feel it, then end up ODing when the two doses finally combine and plateau. Please be careful.

The meth high isn't quite as intense and shit as oxy, but it sure does fuck your tolerance up bad,

I dunno why anyone hasn't said shit. this better be a joke? 50mgs would probably put you in a really bad spot. by that I mean er. someone who can get high off of 160mgs of oxy should probably take 15-20 mgs and see of they feel. I personally if I were you, wouldn't go past 10 or 15. 20 may be too much and it doesn't matter about the calculator and eq. chart. Methadone is a super powerful opioid. It lasts forever and you may not be used to that kind of sedation.

Damn straight. I've had first hand experience with a first time methadone overdose, had to administer naloxone. Very unpleasant, and that was with a relatively low dose if I recall.
 
Well i've slept for 8 hours since i posted this so im not dead thats good, nor did I even get a decent nod. Also I know someone personally who is on 160 mg who hasnt been doing opiates much longer than me and your telling me his methadone dose is equal too roughly 1000 mg of oxycontin?

Also I wasnt planning on dosing 4-6 hours later, more like 18-24, dosing 4-6 hours after I last dosed would more than likely kill me would it not? But thanks for the help..

yes its safe, i didn't know there was 130mg's methadone liquid vials.... but it takes a while (2 hours) to come up, so be carefull when (if) you dose again....if you take 200mg oxy you can take up to 100mg methadone IME IMO

I understand that. Im just saying that at the clinics (atleast mine) they just fill up your exact dose in a bottle for each day... I don't think he is talking about pharm grade sealed ampules or sealed bottles.
 
I've only heard of 10mg/ml Methadone injection vials that contain 20ml (200mg). Never 130mg (so how does 30ml = 45-55mg?) so I assume that its somebody else's bottle.

You can't use opiate converters to calculate equivalent doses of Methadone. They are all wrong. Its hard to get a correct equivalence. I know of two conversion charts that compare Methadone and both are completely different.

You could try a higher dose but don't do it the same day! Easy way to overdose. I don't know what dose you just tried but you could try 50mg. Lower doses are always best when you first take Methadone, just so you can get adjusted and aware of the effects.
 
Yes it is someones take home in a 100ML bottle I got it on saturday so everyone at the clinic gets there take homes cause the clinic is not open on sundays.
 
I think u should just take 20 out 30, just to make sure u r ok, then take more. U can ALWAYS take more...but once youve taken to much, u CAN'T go back....go slow :-) :-) :-) :-)

I´ve spent my worst 3 months to get off methadone. It´s potent because it´s not only strong but it stays in your system for days.
If you get use to taking dose like that, by the time you feel it´s okay and decides to stop prepare for worst and very long withdraws.
Oxys and heroin, although intense, is much easier to come off than methadone IMO/E. So be careful.
