if uppers and downers are so bad how come my doc prescRibes them

My doctor prescribes me dex spansules, dex ir, and xanax. The xanax goes nice with the dex so why do some people view this as dangerous? I have never had any side effects. What do you guys think?

Hah, just because a Dr. prescribes them doesn't mean they are safe. Look at chantix, you can stop smoking but a side effect is suicide. Dr's tend to be in bed with the pharmaceutical companies, just look at the pens/clipboards/tissue boxes next time you're there. This obviously shouldn't be breaking news to you, but sometimes silly questions elicit silly responses. Dr. isn't synonymous with helpful or even concerned in today's fucked up health care world. Best wishes should you choose not to take the above stated advice and ignore what is the general consensus.

Those drugs are addicting, that is why they get a bad reputation. If you are on them long enough, you will become acquainted with withdrawal and then I bet you'll change your tune. I have heard that benzo withdrawal is worse than opiate withdrawal, so good luck.

The combination of amphetamines and benzodiazepines isn't nearly as dangerous as people try to say that they are. At moderate doses. They don't make your heart speed up and slow down at the same time. The benzodiazepines just prevent the stimulants from speeding up your heart at a faster rate.

But the combination is addicting.

Don't listen to everybody! Everyone has an opinion. Most people are straight retarded though (no offense to anyone). I hate people who say Xanax is bad, and is worthless as a effective treatment. Thats bullshit. I take Xanax, or did, and it did nothing but help! Dexedrine is WAY better than Adderall for add/adhd in Adults in my honest opinion. Adderall fucking sucks, it has terrible side effects, and is very addicting, and the symptoms some people get from it are ungodly sometimes. At least with Dexedrine the worse that happens is you may not like it, and go to sleep. Please do yourself a favor and don't listen to a majority of people. Listen to what Your body likes. I think your doctors very smart . That is a very good combination of effective drugs for treatment of anxiety, depression, add/adhd, and a variety of other things. I don't think they're a "high" unless you make it that way.
