Hey I wanna use Temezapam as a regular benzo, like kpins or xanax. How do I dose this and any recommendations? I don't wanna fall asleep on the road or do something incredibly stupid.

Take 15mg but it won't be very effective because that's a low dose compared to anxiolytics. Less than 10mg of Valium. But unlike anxiolytics which you can take higher doses to relief anxiety, if you keep taking equivalent doses of Temazepam you will just fall asleep. Redosing will just make you doze off eventually. Maybe you could take 30mg and try to stay awake but then again...

Thats kinda what I thought. I took about 5mg today and had a great day! I guess its cause of Namenda lowering my tolerance, but I'm planning on using this like a regular benzo just because its so good. I didn't fall asleep at the end, but I think I should be careful, since it will make me sleep lol. Thanks K'd, you're awesome and post in a lot of the threads I seek.

It's funny because to me Temazepam is no more sleepy than xanax, I find it just as recreational if not more. I find that 90mg is a good starting point for a little fun.

Temazepam is a good anxiolytic agent, but it's no where as good as alprazolam or clonazepam for that purpose. At equal anxiolytic doses (20 mg temazepam vs 0.5 mg alprazolam or 0.5 mg clonazepam), temazepam produces more sedation, ataxia, and respiratory depression. This is the reason why:

The most commonly used class of hypnotics prescribed for insomnia are the benzodiazepines. Benzodiazepines all bind unselectively to the GABA(A) receptor. But certain benzodiazepines (hypnotic benzodiazepines) have significantly higher activity at the α1 subunit of the GABA(A) receptor compared to other benzodiazepines (for example, triazolam and temazepam have significantly higher activity at the α1 subunit compared to alprazolam and diazepam, making them superior sedative-hypnotics - alprazolam and diazepam in turn have higher activity at the α2 subunit compared to triazolam and temazepam, making them superior anxiolytic agents). Modulation of the α1 subunit is associated with sedation, motor-impairment, respiratory depression, amnesia, ataxia, and reinforcing behavior (drug-seeking behavior). Modulation of the α2 subunit is associated with anxiolytic activity and disinhibition.

Little known fact about temazepam is that it is an extremely powerful anticonvulsant, and it has been used to treat seizures in adults.

It makes me super sleepy, which is probably why I enjoy it. I didn't sleep until I went home though, everything had a dreamy sort of feel to it, very soft and chill. I took some for school since school sucks, glad I did!

When I try to taper, I can sometimes just use the lorazepam and stay away from zopiclone (the main two for me). When I add zop again, I feel more drowsy and mind-fried than I'd like, and the hangover is worse than just the actual benzos alone. But I find the sedation goes away rather quickly and I'm left with extra relaxation, within days. Maybe this is the same with other benzos, I find I get tolerant to the hypnotic properties a bit quicker than the anxiolytic and muscle-relaxant properties.

I become tolerant quicker to the hypnotics in general. The effects of the anxiolytics lats a little longer before I become tolerant.

I'm so lucky that I regard this as a 'party drug' instead of amphetamines which I consider an everyday drug. I can't stop tweaking for some reason but benzos I don't really care enough about to do everyday. Its not like I'm social or anything, I just don't think they help me function better and they give me memory problems.

Hi, If I have no tolerance to temazepam. and I'm using it as a sleep aid while on suboxone
(2mg), whats a good amount dose to take? thankyou!

I don't know what your tolerance is, but somewhere around 60-90 is where it seems to hit most people.

I'm still staying around the 15mg slot since I don't use them daily. I always fiend for amphetamines though. :)

i don't think it too wise to take temazepam during the day... it will just zonk u out... there are loads of anxiolytic benzos out there, maybe u just havn't found the right one... have u tried alprazolam, bromazepam, diazepam, clonazepam, lorazepam....etc?

I've never had enough temazepam to get a real feel for it, but now i am down to 7.5mg diazepam/day, and i took 500mg a few days ago, and was nicely benzoed out without falling asleep, allthough there was a lot of "nodding", if i took the equivalent of temazepam 1000mg i would probably pass out, so i'm not sure where my sweet spot is, probably 3 to 4 hundred mg's, but i've never paid for a benzo in my life and don't expect to do so, so saving up that amount would be tough if i were RX'ed that instead of loprazolam (2mg/night)

I have both klonopin and xanax prescribed for the day. 2mg of Klonopin, and .5mg of Xanax. I don't like either, Xanax makes me fall asleep, and Klonopin feels like nothing at all still inducing memory loss though. Temazapam has been better than both, it not only removes anxiety, but also makes me more social.
