Looking for info on a vague substance

Recently a friend of SWIM's has been selling what is being dubbed "synthetic psylocibin (sp?)" the guys somewhat of a pharmacist and doesn't deal in any standard street drugs but only obscure RCs. The high was EXTREMELY clean with intense visuals with absolutely no confusion and had me giggling for a good hour straight. There were quite a few things similar to a mushroom experience although due to being insufflated there was no nausea, but I still wouldn't have likened the trip to mushrooms had I not been told what it was prior.

Has anyone heard of such a substance or anything similar? Very vague I know but figured this would be a good place to get some info.

it's must likely 4-aco-dmt as fogott said, but it could have been 4-ho-mipt also.

Yep, there's an endless amount of different drugs it could be.

That said - synthetic psylocibin would still be psylocibin. Whether it's natural or not it's still the same chemical.

Yeah, I've done this as well. If folks are really only aware of the classical psychedelics, are not at all familiar with the Shulgin naming conventions, and just stare blankly at you when you try explaining chemical structures of tryptamines it's something they'll understand. 4-Aco-DMT is probably most likely for reason of its popularity, but any other 4-substituted tryptamine is also quite possible.

Ask the guy if he knows the chemical name, he should if he's dealing with those sorts of things. And like said above, there are plenty of 4-substituted tryptamines that are similar to psilocybin, so there's really no way anyone here can tell you with certainty what it is.
