It's always fascinated me how little interest
The West seems to have (over-all) in integrating
fragrance into Life.

Do you fragrance your home?
Do you use incense?
Oils?
Artificial fragrances?

Share.

:)

I have an oil burner and a bunch of scented oils. I find it the most cost effective way of making the air smell nice. I like "In Essence" and Crabtree & Evelyn ones, they're nice and not too expensive. I'm burning "thai temple" at the moment which is nice and smells like sandalwood, rose, jasmine and citrus.

I used to burn incense when I was younger but decided to change to something less smoking and carcinogenic, and that doesn't leave ash everywhere.

:D

I love incense... it's so calming and relaxing, Samadhi kindly brought back for my husband a gorgeous incense burner from her Thailand honeymoon... the smell is sensation. We had it going during out nye party in the hubby's "Man Cave" and it really helped set the mood.

I love all those sorts of spiritual calming things. :)

I Love oils as well and oil burners, sadly they make me feel unwell, like an allergic reaction. All headachy and heavy headed. My nose will start to block up and ill feel like shit. I realised this once when we had people over when we first moved into our house, i had some oil burning and i felt like shit!! I couldn't even be fucked talking to anyone by the end of it, i just needed to lay down. Had no idea what it was until the hubby blew it out because it became too strong and i noticed a huge difference.

So yeah, love scented oils too; but they don't love me :(

Yeah they're good for the toilet, but not actually healthy to spray around.

I am actually thinking about no longer using this unless due to the health risks. My dad told me about it, it was apparently on the news.

I burn lots of incense.
I prolly spend $10 a week on it.
I've always been a fan of Nag Champa,
s'Indian,
you'd know it by the blue+white box,
it's mainly Frangipani + Sandalwood
and I recently found that it contains
a beta-carboline, probably contributing
the heady feelin' it creates.

I also just found a place that
does interesting different varieties
in the style.

My mum brought me back
some incense made of Desert Pine
from the States of late;
it was fantastic,
like having a log fire burning
in your house that had just
itself turned into a log cabin also.
A pine one.

It was probably the best incense I'd ever olifacted.

A friend of mine just added a hideously-expensive
essential oil line to her biz
and they are by far the most
pure scents I ever come across,
they simply move you physically when you smell them.

I bought some Spruce
and went around anointing people,
telling them I was sprucing them up.

Just started burning some Patchouli incense.

Awhile ago I bought a bunch of candles and incense and my mum has always been into burning oils but ive been a chronic cannabis smoker for the last 8 years(OMG thats the first time ive actually thought about that, 8 years isnt a short while, lucky im quitting(havent smoked today or yesterday....wish me luck!))

But anyway my bedroom often smells like cigarettes which is not nice for people who dont smoke so ive been trying to change it from smelling like tobacco to smelling nice. I want a boyfriend too and I dont particularly want to bring a boy home to a house that smells like cigarrettes so yer....plus I like the smell of oils and incense. I might burn either a rose or frangipani oil later.

Anyone tried this one??

It's my favourite for sure, they are really big sticks and burn for ages. Sometimes you have to dry them out a bit because they absorb water from the atmosphere...

I fucking hate incense. It makes me physically ill. I will not walk anywhere within 50m of those dingy, dark, horrible little stores in shopping centres that sell the shit. I've had people lend me books that I couldn't read because the pages reeked of incense.

I don't buy or want to own any, but I don't mind if someone burns scented candles, or oils. Except for if they contain lavender. Lavender makes me feel ill like incense does.

Pretty much sums it up for me. It hurts my eyes and makes me sniff and sneeze. If it meowed I would kick it outside.

Give me the smell of chocolate or a lamb roast cooking any day.

....well there was this one time with me and my sister, but yeah, she did this thing with her tongue.

Wait.

OHHHHH!!

inCENCE! Not inCEST!

Well...this is awkward.

i have been using a straw berry scented candle :)

went out tonight and forgot to blow the candle out.

came home. the room was like fulla strawberry smell lol.

thank god the house didn't burn down <3

I like the smell of incense but I don't burn it in my house - both my partner and my daughter wouldn't appreciate all the smoke, I don't think.

I occasionally burn oils though :) I also have scented candles but I use them for decorative purposes instead.

I would like a nice pot-smelling incense obviously not the shitty legal high ones or weed that contains thc itself but just want the smell recreated from some nice fruity flowery smelling dank buds.
