Confusion about Zoloft (SSRI) and Ecstasy (MDMA)

So for about a month I was on Zoloft and during that time I popped a Grey Glock/Pistol and I had one of the most best come-ups of my life.. I was basically hugging and smothering a pillow between my legs and shouting, "Holy fuck! Omg, i feel so FUCKING GOOD! omg, omg.. etc, etc."

And I thought for sure that it was caused because of the Zoloft because I have popped the same batch of Grey Pistols and during the time of taking Zoloft that month and thizzing that day it seemed like the best roll I've ever experienced w/the Grey Glocks... but it's said that SSRI's mess up your roll..?

Does anyone have any idea of what happened? Maybe it's because I was only on the anti-depressants for so long (one month) that my roll somehow became much more intense that night? I'd really like to know what happened so if anyone could try and answer my question that'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Zoloft is one of the SSRIs that dont completely cancel out the ability to roll, and since you were only on it for a month it wasnt fully doing its job yet. For my first 4 months of many rolls (abuse) I was on 20mg of Prozac everyday and I was still able to roll amazingly. This is just my take on it and comparison to my experience.

Maybe it was just a great pill (:

Hey, On the topic of SSRI's and MDMA, how long would one have to stop taking 30 mg a day of citalopram before being able to roll fully, or 85% if you will, for you suboxone folks if you know what I mean about it never being 100 till your clear pissed.

^^

It really depends on the half life of the drug you are taking. some you can get away with waiting 2 weeks, others a month, others 3 months+

But SSRIs have shown an ability to make permanet changes in the brain and for some people that are on them for a long time never really enjoy rolling again. If you are on an SSRI, stopping it just to roll is not a good idea. your doctor has you on it for a reason and some can cause serious withdraws and you must taper your dose proerly before comming off them.

Citalopram should be out og your system in about 7 - 8 days after you stop taking it. That doesn't mean you will be able to feel the full affects of MDMA.. I couldn't even after months of stopping citalopram (although i think it could have had more to do with the insane tolerance i built up thanks to the abuse)..

It would still be blocking 5-ht reuptake pumps. You can take 1 SSRI an hour or so before MDMA and it will still block much of MDMAs affects.

Rickolasnice---Thank you, firsthand experience means SOO much to me. A little more insight would be so much apreciated?

right since I made that post I went off of Celexa for 5 full days, than took one single 20 mg tablet, than went off for 48 hours took one 20 mg tablet, went 36 hours took half tablet 10 mg, None for the 72 hours after that, do you think ill be able to roll in 24 more hours?

I figure I have got it mainly out of my system, so will one 10 mg citalopram 96 hours ago mess with my roll. I also read citalopram has 90% excreation in 7 days.

Edit* I agree in full that people should not quit their medications in order to achieve a roll, I am quitting my antidepressants regardless of the rolling thing for many reasons, 1. I feel it has made me unproductive, I dont react to things the way I should. 2. I never was depressed I just went in to a shrink to get benzos while on probation and they wont give you benzos untill your good and on anti depressants.......sigh.

What would you like to know?

Before i even started taking an SSRI i took a couple of fluoxetine (prozac) pills then took MDMA and LSD later that day.. both were weakened quite alot (MDMA moreso)..

While on SSRIs (citalopram) for around 7 months i tried taking MDMA multiple times and although something worked it was definately not what it should have been, and definately not worth the money.

I stopped taking my citalopram a long time ago now (over a year) and have taken MDMA multiple times.. It's like i still have a HUGE tolerance to it.. so much so i hardly get anything from the MDMA experience.

It's probably worth noting that i was taking mephedrone at the end of my citalopram use and for quite a while after it.. that too was greatly muted by the SSRI.

The last time i took MDMA was about a month ago.. me, a friend and my gf all took a small amount of coke then bought alot of MDMA. They were both fucked whereas i was not so much.

The time before that was a few months ago. Me, another friend and my gf all did quite alot of MDMA over a weekend. This friend had used drugs with me from a couple months after i started MDMA.. he'd be with me most weekends taking similar amounts. He's also been on SSRIs; fluoextine (prozac). Me and him can't really get high like we used to. It's not the same. My girlfriend has abused MDMA and mephedrone (slightly) and she now says just thinking of MDMA makes her feel sick. She still gets rushin (definately looks it) but it's lacking somewhat of what it should be (euphoria, empathy, etc).. Me and my friend don't really get any of the physical affects anymore let alone the psychological.. a slight gurn and difficulty focussin is about as far as it goes.

Hope this helps (I just had to type it out twice cos my connection died!!! :( )

EDIT: btw.. this MDMA has been tested by kit and other people.. it's good stuff.. and when i say alot of it i mean ALOT of it. Like pretty much a gram each (in a night) both times i just mentioned.

EDIT2: I guess 1 good thing is that i don't get anywhere near the come down / hangover i should from such high doses :)

EDIT3: Untill recently i have been very stupid with drugs. I don't recommend anyone take drugs like i have for the past 6 years.. it's caused me alot of shit (anxiety, depression, etc..)
