It sucks, I made a new years resolution to quit smoking tobacco I was on a pack a day sometimes more for 1 and a half years, and quit cold turkey the first morning of the new year. IT FUCKIN SUCKS. I have all the symptoms I'v heard of, and I am not going to start again to avoid the physical withdrawl, I just found myself outside trying to smoke a ciggerette but my lighter wouldn't light and I could not smoke the cigarette, I thought of it as a sign, so I did not try to smoke it and grab another lighter, but seriously I'm being a dick to everyone friends, I'm irritable as all hell and and feeling like SHIT, I just flushed whats left of my pack, anyway if any of you have successfully quit tobacco, what did you use to help cope? I'm dangerously close to giving in.

All help appreciated

I did not know where to put this thread, move it if need be, or close it if you absolutly have to, PLEASE HELP

^ Yea people always say smoke more weed, but for me I can't have one without wanting the other. To the OP, you could try wellbutrin, it is an anti-depressant that also helps with quitting cigs......It made them taste repulsive to me.

Try one of the electric cigarettes. They suck but it could help. Also helps with the hand to mouth issues. I haven't quit yet but I have tried. I wish you the best of luck!

I'm quitting too as of new years. It was not until day 4 that I remembered tobacco is a drug and I've been using it everyday, hence I have no recollection of what soberity is for some time (been smoking daily for 4 years). Soberity is a cold experience for me. All the more, it leads me to want to smoke.
But I always remember...
Fuck. Tobacco.

I highly reccommend cold turkey and excercise. I find all the other shit (chantix, wellbutrin, nicotine gum, e-cigs) eventually leads back to smoking.

thank you too all of you guys, I also don't want to go to e-cig cause it honestly just makes me want a cigarette more. But man I was always just smoking aq cigarette until I didnt want one. for 30 minutes.. lol I never really relized that the withdrall was so bad I mean I feel like I have the flu, my chest is killing, everything, But I cant do it, I just keep telling myself its temporary, but I'm also being a dick to everyone ANGER is a biig part to this. Oh well keep on goin, right?

You must have really had the flu because you don't get flu-like symptoms from nicotine withdrawal. The physical withdrawals are very limited, its mostly psychological. Very fucking psychological.

Nicotene is physically addicting as well psychological cause everything is psychologically addicting, or has the potential, It is very psychological I agree but I honestly thing the physical side effects to nicotene withdrawl are somewhat as bad as psychological, your take may be different.

the mental shit is what gets me...its the actual act of smoking i find the hardest to quit..

the situations...when i drink..when i do pills...after i eat...when i wake up...

each time you quit the withdrawals are a little easier because u know what to expect

Healthy decision to quit smoking.

E-cigarettes are good because they mimic the act of smoking as well as deliver the nicotine. I recommend buying one of those. It's not going to be the same as smoking regular cigs; that's why you use it to ease the quitting process. It's like Suboxone for tobacco...

I have read some find Kratom has helped curb the craving for tobacco. I also hear Kratom tastes nasty, tho.

Id say exercise. Not pumping iron but a sport; basketball, football. You get the exercise WHILE having fun! Way to go man keep it up! =D

Kratom? thats weird I'v smoked it lots and drank tea, good stuff, but helps with nicotene crave?

I find this to be true with Bali Kratom... I have almost no desire to smoke tobacco.

But With UEI Kratom I smoke more because I want even more stimulation.

I quit once for almost a year and a half with Wellbutrin but I have no idea how I was able to do it because taking a drug isn't going to do it. I must have had a lot of will power. I've been smoking daily for 12 years and that was the only period of time that I was able to stay clean from nicotine. I went back to smoking cigarettes when I started going to college.
