what to tell my dentist

Tell him when he has the script pad out that there is $200 in your wallet. Or maybe there isn't. :)

That is true however if you go in there looking like a druggie and talking like a druggie, that's how you are gonna get treated. If you go in there looking nice and acting professional you will more than likely be treated better and look more trustworthy. Totally just my opnion but anybody with any sense better try not to look and act like a pill seeker when asking for medication. Duh.

I know I don't have many post but I have a lot, a lot, a lot, of experiene when asking for and getting these meds. Just trying to help the OP. I was on hydro for years. And was switched to OC because I asked for it. Of course its a bit easier for me with my medical problems, but I have learned you can get almost anything as long as your doctor trust you.
 
I've always had nice dentists in the past. They've always given me hydrocodone or oxycodone. Once I asked for a pain med and he looked through all the different pain medications that they have to prescribe and I decided oxycodone. He asked me which one "I" wanted. That was the best dentist I've ever had. Better than any doctor or psychiatrist I've had.
 
I got demerol when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. He gave me the the option of perc 10s or the demerol and I had never had demerol so I took the demerol of course.
 
wow! you took demerol over percocet? that was a Horrible, Horrible, Horrible choice, words don't even describe how Horrible of a choice that was...... damn. maaaaan. Just.... .DAMN! SMDH
 
If you want to get flagged as a drug seeker, I wouldnt mention anything. Just take what the doctor is gonna give you & the only place you will get anything stronger is on the street.
 
my whole face is swollen I can feel it in my ear and eyes, and all through my mouth I have 4 teeth broken to the nerve and 2 of those are abscessed, and I can guarantee I will not get perks, all I got last time was T3's

it sounds to me like you are listed, or just seem very desperate if you really have 4 exposed nerves, and 2 are abcsessed, and only get t3's. i had 2 wisdom teeth pulled, and i went in, got the iv for pain, the couple shots in the mouth, and 30 perk5s when i left. i went back for a root canal after the wisdom, told him it hurt last time, and he gave me a couple shots, and knocked my ass out, he told my mom (he held Rx, informing her) when i woke up he asked if i wanted to request anything, and apparently (i dont remember right after i woke up) i told him i am allergic to hydrocodone (im not) and that i had to take 2 of the percocet 5's to ease the pain to tolerable (true), so he said ok we will bump you up, and gave me 30 perk10's, and a couple more of the amoxicilin. if you emphasize more on the antibiotics, and mention the pain, he will respond. in my car i was like (drooling on myself) ''he gave me perk 10's, hell yea thats better'' and she told me apparently what i said. LISTEN, if your in pain, and u take 20mg oxycodone (which is what i take, never more with perks), you wont catch a buzz off it IF your IN PAIN... you catch a buzz if your not in pain. trust me. & i have a higher tolerance to opies than just 20mg (30-60), so i really am taking this to ease my mouth.

*i tell every dentist i go to, if you do NOT knock my ass out before you remove anything, i will go somewhere else. i find it very very uncomfortable while someone is in your mouth pickin around, its really like a anxiety thing for me. they dont want to loose money so they will do it, if you are going to pay for it.

Here is what usually works for me: Go to the office and leave with whatever he gives you. Then either much later that day or early the next day call the office and complain (obviously in an adult way so no whining...) that the percs aren't helping. The worst that will happen is you get nothing which is better than asking there because the worst that could happen in person is to get nothing because he thinks you want to abuse them. Also when you get prescribed for something else or a higher dose you won't have to bring back whatever you already got so you might end up with even more.

Nope, Not listed or desperate, I've never gone ANYWHERE to try to get meds before, and I didn't even ask this dentist for pain meds, he was just an asshole and thats what he gave me, I can guarantee you though that this time I'm calling around and will make sure that I'm going to get something stronger than t3's before I even hire my dentist.
