In Vegas, I was just about to go up to my room, although I was still rolling pretty hard. I went to the public restroom in the lobby first (at the Rio) and did my best to get some pee out. I was doing this in the urinal right next to the janitors closet, and I immediately noticed that the light was on in there, and I heard someone making some noise in there (didn't think anything of it at this point...assumed it was the janitor) and continued to pee. I was in the restroom by myself, and another guy walked in on my left, and I looked at him, and his facial expression looked like hehad just seen a ghost. He proceeded to scream "no! no! Not you! What are you doing here!?".
I was extremely confused at this point, then someone walks right behind me (out of the janitors closet) and straight to this guy and starts strangling him. The strangler is a large Asian man in a full suit, and is wearing white latex gloves.
I froze for a few seconds...not believing what I was seeing. The Asian man was saying something, but it was hard to understand through his strong accent, but it sounded something like " you answer to the thief " although I'm sure it is something different.
When the Asian man's eyes met mine, I finally snapped out of shock and zipped up my pants and sped walked out of there, not leaving time to flush or wash my hands. Let me tell you, this was the longest walk out of a bathroom I'll ever have, and it felt like he was right on my back the whole time, though he wasn't.
Now that I was out of the bathroom, my first thought was to notify security what had happened. I couldn't find them anywhere, so I finally decided I needed to get up to my room to lock up and be safe from this man. On the way to my room, I thought every Asian man was working with the strangler and was after me.
I finally made it to the elevator and pressed level 12 . The two young guys in there with me pressed 11. As we were going up, they started pressing all the elevator buttons and chuckling to one another. They got off at 11. Then-- I don't know how they did it-- but the elevator went right by floor 12 and stopped at 13. I was convinced I was walking into an ambush and was panicking. Thankfully it was a harmless prank, and I safely went back down to my floor.
When I got to my floor, I sprinted to my room and deadbolted the door. I was soo paranoid...because I heard people talking outside my room and I swear I heard what sounded like an Asian man screaming "give me the key!". I also swear I was hallucinating (at least I hoped) men in the adjacent tower's windows aiming anklets at me.
Anyway, after a few hours of being frightened out of mu mind, I finally fell asleep. I was fine in the morning, and heard nothing of this strangling. I had terrible anxiety and an extreme phobia of public restrooms with janitor closets for a few months after this, though I have overcome all of that now.
And that is my story of the "wrong time to roll"... Man I got chills typing that haha, sorry for the long read, and thanks for reading if you did!
