Most Dangerous Drug.

methamphetamine. There is so much danger associated with it due to psychosis. People putting babies in microwaves...happens in AZ.

A lot of weird things happen in AZ. I like that you have the right to carry guns for self protection, but hate that sheriff that runs that tent city type jail and treats inmates less than human. Leaves them outside in the hot Arizona heat, feeds them very unhealthy food, and forces them to watch C-Span. Hate that guy with a passion.

I think the question needs to be more specifically defined. What is meant by "dangerous" - to your physical health? to your mental health? to society?

As far as I was aware, alcohol was the most socially "dangerous" (destructive) drug, for a multitude of reasons. No?

Actually most drugs are harmless and beneficial.

Really? It depends on what definition you take as "a drug" but basically anything chemical can be dangerous/poisonous to the body. It's the doses (and obviously many other factors) which make them beneficial.

Id say fentenyl just because the dose from being high to OD is so close. So its dangerous if your not really carful on dosage.

There's more potent opiates then fentenyl however.

Maybe I'm just being pedantic but I think you're conflating the danger of a drug with the danger of its route of administration. I mean, you could presumably die from smoking tea cigarettes long term but that wouldn't make tea the world's most dangerous drug. I think pharmacologically nicotine is fairly harmless; at least compared to some stuff.

Agreed on the addictive part, but again that's not related to danger.

And yeah, what does this have to do with philosophy or spirituality?

Agreed, smoking is what causes carcinogens, not pure nicotine.

So smoking is bad. Smoking addictive stuff is worse.

As for addiction, alcohol will probably kill you drastically faster than smoking.

The worst drug to take is Vecuronium. :-)

I'd take it if I had a scale to .000 scale. Maybe four zeros. Do they make that?

I am sure they do but would probably be expensive and hard to get a hold of not to mention how hard it would be to handle substances at that weight. You could take one with 2 zeros and make a master batch and dillute down a solution. If you know what you are doing it could be done safely.

This is the one I was trying to remember.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carfentanil

Carfentanil. It is supposed to be obtainable from Mexican veterinary supply houses.

As fataly dangerous as that could be I would like to give it a go round.

8o Ouch is all I gotta say. If you were to 1. get access to this, goodluck and props to you! :) and 2. most definitely use liquid form of dose (apologies, I forget the "technical" term for this - again post-NYE :p )

From what I can gather 3-Methylfentanyl isn't actually used in medicine right? Remifentanil being it's safer cousin I know is used quite often* (primarily as an anaesthetic due to it's hypnotic and amnesic affects).

Wow, Carfentanil is available commercially.

* A friend of mine is an (orthopaedic) anaesthetist and he says he gets a giggle when he administers remifent to the older (I guess teenage-ish) kids because of their reaction to it. =D

id have to say smoking and heroin takes the most live. i was into heroin pretty bad myself a bout a year ago (ended) and about 3 years ago it started. within JUST that time, i have seen half my friends get killed from OD. I moved to florida a year ago, and still to this day get calls like these
"hey man.. you hear what happened to anthony?"
nah man what up
"he posted to fb 'finally gettin some sleep', then his mom said he did a big shot and wouldnt wake up"

just got that call 2 days ago. almost all my goood school friends are dead, and i have a couple left over who was smart like me, saved their own lives and moved outta that city.

The OP stated which has claimed the most lives. I think it definitively goes to tobacco, not completely sure, anyone prove me wrong.

Next in line is alcohol. Both for killing your soul and withdrawals from hell. Cirrhosis, DT's, bad stuff. My least preffered drug though. Dunno why everyone else likes getting drunk as hell, they might pay in the long run.

It's no surprise, they're legal drugs.

The most abused pills are benzos: alprazolam, clonazapam and diazepam (I think in that order)

No surprise alprazolam is number one, all the deaths are from mixing with other CNS depressants. Benzodiazipines are fairly safe in overdose they just cause a coma like state I believe, you need something else to make high recreational doses kill, probably most commonly alcohol.

Then are prescription opioids. Also death way more likely with another CNS depressant.

Then heroin probably, the misery is bad for many heroin addicts, as posted on this board. It's price and unobtainable (illegal, except in England for terminal patients) nature make withdrawals frequent and the cause the person using much grief, and want to make it instantly over. Alcohol addiction can be nasty cause it's cheap (boxed wine ect.) and obtainable quite easily, LARGE tolerances can build.

Never experienced alcohol withdrawal, but I'm sure it's worse than opioid withdrawal which I have experienced. Alcohol withdrawal if bad enough will kill, opioids will just make you so miserable you want to kill yourself, again if bad enough. I couldn't even imagine going cold turkey on 200+mg of methadone for a year+.

Hmm, I'd think I agree with (most of) what you'd said lolwhatzdrugs.

What I have thought about however is tobacco/alcohol so destructive (in many sense of the word) because of pharmacological reasons or social? What I mean by that is it due to them being so freely available, cheap, a lot more socially accepted and very common world wide?

Agreed only tobacco is far more accepted than alcohol. Makes sense, nicotine withdrawal ain't shit compared to alcohol withdrawal. The DTs have been described medically for a long time.

In turn tobacco kills more people, you don't see the dangerous parts until they're there. I smoke, more when I'm high, I've been smoking the same pack since monday. I don't have a problem weaning down, but not smoking is a hard deed. I've quit twice and always come slugging back. Bastard tobacco, and I admit stupidity in this area as well.
