Earlier today I had the worst respiratory depression Ive ever had on Oxycodone, so I finally decided that I needed to get me some naloxone. So I rang all my local pharmacys but none of them stocked any so they suggested that I should ask the hospital doctors for a prescription. So off I went to the local hospital emergency department and tried to explain to the triage nurse my unique condition which is Dysautonomia and that it causes hypersensitivity to to all opiates and I have chronic pain so I need to have some sort of back up like naloxone during those really sever adverse episodes.

She told me based on my situation there would be a long wait to be seen by a doctor ....so 5 hours later I get called by the head nurse who tells me Ive been waiting for no reason because they do not dispense naloxone or naltrexone to patients and that it is illegal in Australia to prescribe. She was some fesity red head biach who didn't want to hear my situation and told me to go home. I got upset and asked to speak to a doctor so she ends up calling over security instead.

I told her I will be taking the matter up with supervisor so she says "bring it on". Just as I'm leaving a doctor who overheard our conversation comes up to me ans asks what the problem is. To my horror it turned out the be the worst doctor in the hospital who had called me a junkie the last time I ended up in there from an adverse reaction to just 5 mg of Oxycodone. Soon as he saw me his like I remember you, I was like oh no I remember you too.

His like what are you doing here 3 am in the morning and I tell him Ive been waiting here for 5 hours, so then he says you don't need naloxone you just need to stop abusing drugs. I was like omg here we go again, I got real mad and I yelled at him saying I'm not a junkie look at my arms, I then look down and I have this massive red dot right on my vein from squeezing a zit earlier. I was like oh fuc god hates me, everything that could possible go wrong just did.

I tried telling them denying me naloxone is like denying someone with a peanut allergy an epipen, they just laughed at me and said they don't see the relation. Then he says you realise if you use naloxone your going to kill your high, now he was just mocking me, I told him I would rather stop the pain relieving effects if necessary then to die. Like wtf, I always end up in the most surreal fked situations, here I am trying to find a way to ensure my safety and they are just messing with my head.

sometimes i feel this way, and then i realize thats pretty narcissistic of me...
;)

what you are saying though is a twisted fact, and is not a laughing matter.
after sering so many people/patients, we all become cattle, faceless customers/types.

certainly dont let this detour you from doing what you feel is safe for your body/mind though..!
for crying out loud.

be safe man.

:::facepalm:::

you do realize that after a 5 hour wait chances are the oxycodone would have been out of your system and you would have no need for the naloxone anyway?

how old are you?

i, personally, would have laughed at you if i saw you in an ER waiting to get naloxone after any kind of wait time. you get no sympathy from these parts.

Was I not clear enough when I said I have a "unique condition which is Dysautonomia and that it causes hypersensitivity to to all opiates and I have chronic pain so I need to have some sort of back up like naloxone during those really sever adverse episodes.

I don't want naloxone for a past episode of respiratory depression, I want it because tommorow is a new day and I have been battling with adverse reactions for 3 years, obviously I haven't died yet but today was one of the worst I had and I want it for next time when I have another episode like that.
