Okay i was using 90mg of diazepam a day for about two months, then slowly tapered down over the course of another two months. I've now been off of diazepam for about three days.

My question to y'all is when can i expect to be free of diazepam metabolites in my urine? Because upon pissing clean i will get full methadone 'takehome' privledges, which i fucking want..

So yeah how long do you guys think i'll be waiting for that eh? %)

Diazepam has a very long half life- on the order of 50+ hours (it's one of the longest acting benzodiazepines)...this means it takes 50 hours for the first half of the drug to be eliminated, another 50 hours for half of the remaining drug (so after 100 hours, there is still 1/4 of the drug in your system) and it gets cut in half like that every 50 hours...which means it can be detected in urine for over a week if you're a regular user.

It's also of importance to note that diazepam breaks down into several other drugs- nordiazepam, Temazepam and Oxazepam which are also screened as a benzodiazepine so you are also dealing with other drugs showing up in your urine on top of the diazepam....which combined, you're looking at a half life of well over 100 hours (4 days) of detectable drugs...remember, 2 half lives does not mean it's 100 % eliminated- 2 half lives means 3/4 of it has been eliminated (50% the first half life, then 50 % of the remaining 50 % in your system- which is 25 %....and so on & so on every half life

I'd stay off it for 3-4 weeks at least to be safe...unless of course, you take it legally under a doctor's prescription; in which case, you have nothing to fear or hide.

Well how it actually happend was i was addicted to illegally obtained diazepam and xanax, then i went to a drug clinic which has impatient detox and alot of outpatient stuff, got on methadone, and was forced to taper down over time. They wouldn't let me stay on it, obviously though that's because i had no actual medical reason to use diazepam.

Anyways cheers guys, i've got 25 days until i next go back to this clinic for my appointment, i'll drop a piss sample there and see how i go.%)
