Wisdom Teeth question

Today I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed. I was put on antibiotics and the normal 5/500 hydrocodone.

I have a post-op checkup on the 28th.

My question is, I plan on rolling on NYE, but I'm not sure if it will be healed enough by then. Can anyone else give any insight as to whether or not it'll be a good idea?

I can see that being a problem if you aren't fully healed.

Dry mouth and gurning will not be good.

Definatly not a good idea. I would not advise it. Grinding while having the most sensitive mouth... Just drink.

Yeah, I was worried about that.

I mean, if they seem fairly healed enough on the 28th and I take magnesium to reduce the teeth clenching/grinding and possibly use a pacifier, could that make it a little more safer?

If you can run your tongue over the wound and it doesn't bother you or feel raw at all then maybe. If you still have stitches in then definitely not.

Some people heal in 5 days some in 20.

I think the best bet will be seeing how my post-op check up goes and seeing it from there.

I'm also going to request a list of the anesthetics used to put me out as I've heard that some take quite awhile to be metabolized so I'd like to research the possible interactions they have with MDMA.

I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed on a wednesday and a week from the following saturday I was at a phish show hippy flipping my nuts off downing nitrous balloons. It really is person to person but I bet youll be totally fine.

Update: Well I went in for my post-op today. Everything seemed great according to the Doc - he removed the little pieces of stitches left (I had the biodegradable [or residual] kind) and some stuff caught by them.

I have tiny little holes left which I have to clean for the next week or so, but that's about it. I was given the all clear to do whatever I please (eating, sucking through straw, etc) just aslong as I clean my mouth with the syringe I was given.

They aren't too sore anymore, almost completely okay other than being slightly irritated from the stitches being removed. It's looking good for me, I'll see how it goes in the next couple of days (chewing will be a good test) and hopefully all will be okay for NYE.

:)

personally i wouldn't never dream of rolling anytime shorter than a month after getting my wisdom teeth out. if your confident you won't re-injure yourself than your going to do what you want. but i for one would not advise it. also did you get your gauze out? as in is there still a risk of a dry socket?

This is actually the key right here. You don't want to suck through a straw or smoke cigarettes or whatnot because it can lead to a dry socket. With this risk removed, you have little risk with rolling on NYE now. Grinding / gurning isn't really the issue with rolling as much as the dry mouth would be in this case. Thanks for the update!

what antibiotics are you on? some strong antibiotics aren't the best idea to combine with mdma because they are both metabolized by the CYP2D6 liver enzyme and therefore can significantly increase the strength of the roll. also, try to avoid smoking cigs and sharing drinks and stuff, you are more vulnerable to get an infection in your mouth.

I rolled my first time 2-3 weeks after i had my teeth removed. it was no problem. i was not taking antibiotics or pain killers at the time.

Im getting mine out in 3 weeks and rolling a week later, pm me after ur experience and lemme know how it goes. Im not going to dose any meds for 2 days pre roll. Im gunaa suffer.

Will do. I'll keep you posted if any plans change as we may roll a few days later unfortunately as a friend is coming into town around then, but I'll keep you updated :)

As far as pain went, I experienced little to none. Minor discomfort was about all I had. I took 600mg (take 800mg if you're larger than 180+ I'd say) Ibuprofen each day, dosing every 4-6 hours. That alone completely removed the need for any painkillers other than that.

Antibiotic wise, I was prescribed Clindamycin (300mg / 3 times daily for 5 days) which I finished on Christmas. The chem generally leaves within ~3 days so that's no problem.

My Doctor already gave me an all clear on all fronts (smoking, straws etc) as stated in my post.
