Some have attacked family members, committed suicide after using MDVP

NEW ORLEANS — Dangerous new drugs are being sold as fake bath salts, fake fertilizer or fake insect repellent — and sending drug abusers to emergency rooms around the country after snorting or smoking them, poison center officials say.

At least 84 people around Louisiana have been hospitalized because of paranoia, fighting, hallucinations, suicidal thoughts and physical effects such as hypertension and rapid heartbeat — most for a day or two but at least three of them for weeks, Mark Ryan, head of the Louisiana Poison Center, said Wednesday.

"These are experienced drug users ... There's a lot of things they'll suffer for the drug high they're looking for," Spiller said. "Even these people are coming into the emergency room. Even they can't handle these fairly nasty effects."

i heard of a dude who shot up insect repellent, his hand went all black but after a few months it returned to normal. Then he shot up the same shit again and died.

everyone reacts differently to drugs, those idiots probably took way too much mdpv. u dont need that much. a little goes a long way.

Interestingly, the active ingredient of Off! is centrally active to some extent:

It acts as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor.

2M2B would probably repel insects, seeing as they don't like thymol or eucalyptol. 2M2B is produced by hops (the plant), and it possibly conveys that precise benefit to the hops plant.

Does anyone ever actually use these things as bath salt? Anyway, the suits and blue-rinses think they can get the better of human nature. People want to get high and they will, regardless of what pieces of paper say.

what a poorly written article, most of the grammar is retarded.

You may benefit from taking an English composition course or two in college; there are no errors present in the article. Please also keep in mind that writing style will vary from one journalist to the next. One should not criticize a news article based solely on how it is written or if there are typos present; such errors can be corrected through editing. If you must criticize a news article, please do so because it contains fallacious errors or inaccurate information.

I have seen some of the damage that these chemicals have caused firsthand. It is not pretty. It seems that most people who obtain these substances believe that they can eschew caution because they are not explicitly illegal, resulting in trips to the emergency room or otherwise extremely unpleasant experiences.

"The group we're getting it from is paying cash at the gas station, not using a credit card over the Internet,"

Where the fuck can I find a gas station that sells MDPV.... damn I wish I knew one.

I disagree in part. Many readers (myself included) tune out when they see numerous grammatical errors in an article. The author loses credibility if his command of English is poor.

The general principle is that clarity of expression is a necessary condition for effective communication. There's a song in which Juvenile and Lil Wayne are rapping about performing simultaneous anal and vaginal intercourse. This includes the verse:

I like to fuck 'em in the ass while he beat up the pussy

But it sounds like:

I like to fuck him in the ass while he beat up the pussy

I just recently saw those stupid "bath salts" at the local smoke shop.. They were so ridiculously overpriced I started laughing when I asked how much it was and the girl says something ridiculous like "$90 for 1 gram" ... lol i was like wow you can get it way cheaper online, and btw those 'bath salts' are nothing new... and they all suck from what i've heard form you guys and everyone else... stupid legal highs...

Worst 60 bucks I ever spent it was rather weak I would try another online vendor but I'm skeptical just might stick to life high I.e bunjee jump thrill rides

I knew this day was coming. I'd imagine the media/the general public will start to pick up on the cathinone market, just like they did with the cannabinoids. Hopefully it wont result in a situation like the UK.

I've already heard about meph being sold around campuses in the nation, so I can see more media reports (no matter how bullshit they are) coming.

I understand the point you are making, but the ass-fucking example you gave has nothing to do with "poor English". Rather, English collapses the distinction between "him" and "them" when in unstressed syllables.

To those of us who differentiate "him" and "them" in such contexts, using the latter as both 3rd person plural and as a gender-neutral from of 3rd person singular, this collapse can result in occasional confusion. It is not "poor" English, however.

To those who still use sexist pronouns, such as yourself, it shouldn't matter, since you use "him" to refer to both male and female referents. :p
