Okay, so my favourite song for 2010 would have to be Kanye West - Runaway. Here is a link to youtube where you can stream the song, no film clip;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rudkeNEJk_s

Now, here is a quote of a line from the song...

24/7, 365, pussy stays on my mind

Any women find this offensive?? It's something I could possibly see myself saying to a mate after a number of beers but it wouldn't be something I would say to a woman unless they were a good friend of mine.

What would the blokes here think if it was a female artist and it read 24/7, 365, dick stays on my mind.... It's not the sort of thing you would hear in a mainstream song from anybody I can think of except if it was in a rap or hip hop song.

Please, express your thoughts to help me out on this one... :)

Well reducing women to their genitals is kind of offensive, yeah. It's probably one of the milder examples in hip hop / rap though.

Klue do you dress up in a pink morphsuit with latex boobs, and attend feminist pride parades?

Seriously, no one really gives a shit what an egotistical black guy says about anyone, because he's already proven he's a dick. The only 'pussy' he gets isn't what any of us would want 24/7-365 anyway. All he's got is glamor crackwhores, who he has for the night - one day he'll be a very lonely (all be it rich) prick.

Why let someone like that offend you? Pricks like that just haven't learned that people are laughing at em, not with em.

I love DJ Assault, who is probably the king of Ghetto Booty Tech. His lyrics are monstrous, but it certainly doesn't cause sand in the vag. As for Kanye's quoted lyric, it doesn't offend me at all. There are some rap groups that i listened to when i was younger (N.W.A for instance) whose lyrics were seriously misogynistic, but again, it didn't get to me. Ice Cube was also notorious for his bitch/ho/etc lyrics, but "How to Survive South Central" is still one of my all-time favourite tracks. :D

Ah I don't really think this is an issue at all nowadays. But seeing as this provides me an avenue to rant I love this reverse feminism song by Propagandhi:

Drains her fifth and spits out a Greek translation. She slurs "How much more bullshit you got left? 'Cuz you've been feeding me this crap about ‘free speech' and ‘thought-police' like I'm supposed to sit and swoon". It takes three more rounds till the subject changes and in that time she lays it down: "Fuck Larry Flynt and any campaign to silence women standing up and fighting back. And I fuck to cum, so don't lay your ‘repressed' shit on me. I fuck to cum. Fuck your blessed Trinity. I'm so sick of needle-dicks and (selective) first-amendments. I can out-think, out-drink, out-fuck-you-all so fuck your bullshit ‘femme-nazi' crap, no needle-dick's gonna silence me. I fuck to cum."

Also if you want to talk misogynism, douche bag Kanye has fucking nothing as evidenced by one of my favourite bands, The Dwarves:

Eyeballs for breakfast
Jack off for lunch
I'd like you better if you had a fuckin' cunt
Let's fuck- let's fuck
I'm made of rubber
You're made of glue
I wanna stick my fucking cock inside of you
Let's Fuck
I am the best fuckin' fuck in the whole USA
I can fuck you to death, I can fuck you to stay
I am the best fucking fuck in the whole fuckin' world
Dog eat dog, boy eat girl
I'm the duke of fuckin' earl
Let's fuck
Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed
Old enough to pee then she's old enough for me
Let's fuck

^ Try Chainsawgutsfuck by Mayhem on for size. I do see what you mean though, I doubt you would ever hear Kanye or any other mainstream artist using borderline pedo lyrics. :)

In regards to the topic at hand, I think you would struggle to reach a consensus amongst women whether they be feminist or otherwise. Its all relative depending upon the individual, where some one may find you saying "....pussy stays on my mind" offensive you can easily find 5 others that would just laugh at you or pass an equally flippant remark.

I do know plenty of women who wince though when men use terms like pussy etc but they don't get deeply offended.

I'd imagine that most women who actively study or debate negative attitudes towards women would consider this to be a very trivial issue to other issues of greater consequence.

Eh. All words are context and intent. Giving words power by reacting to them only makes the people who use them feel important and controversial.

If I think someone is actually a misogynist I'll flinch when they say, 'lady' or 'woman' or 'miss' let alone 'pussy.'

The only thing I find offensive about this situation is that you actually like Kanye West?? Booooooooooo :(
I am disappoint.

24/7, 365, pussy stays on my mind as well. Ain't nothing offensive about that. It's called being human.

Welcome to the human race Kanye :)

I can wait to find a dvd of the 30 minute film for runaway, love it.

:)

We need some Easy E up in this place! and, from the sound of things, I need to listen to some DJ Assault :D
