Well it looks like i got shafted instead of normal Oxy 15 IR i got compounded..

Each pill also has

Dextromethorphan

Hydroxisine

and a stool softener

the bad thing is it doesnt say how much of the other stuff is in each pill besides the 15mg of oxy....

Does anyone have experience with shit like this?

Hmmm... DXM will help keep tolerance away and potentiate, but who knows how much is in there.

Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine that a lot of people like with their opioids.

Stool softener will help you shit.

What dose of oxycodone do you normally take?

I usually take 30-45 mg at a time

The problem is now I'll be taking all the other shit cause it would be 3 capsules and an unknown amount of that other shit

When I used opioids daily for pain I would have LOVED having built in potentiation that allowed me to lower the dose and mitigated the side effects. I have no sympathy that you can't as easily get high off something a doctor thinks you really need.

Sounds like a damn good pill for me then, I'd want them if i was prescribed for chronic pain. Stop complaining OP..

Ya don't sound too bad to me, plus OP is taking relatively low doses.

OP Call the pharmacy and ask the amounts of other ingredients, you have the right to know what you're putting in you're body.

Oxy+Potentiators+ a low tolerance= complaining

I get the feeling we'll hear back from this guy "those are better than X"!!

^^ Not to mention doesn't DXM help dampen tolerance from increasing?

That's the theory but several of us tried a lengthy experiment to test this and didn't get very impressive results... not that's its scientific but I haven't met anyone on here who has tried this over a substantial amount of time while using a lot and can definitely say "this greatly slowed tolerance acquisition" let alone reversed any.

What doses of DXM were being used, if you don't mind me asking? I am not doubting the experiment just looking for details because i am genuinely interested, since i have never heard that it doesn't work before. I know it won't reverse tolerance, but i have heard it slows the rate a which it rises many times before.

I guess it ain't that bad.. I'm not really complaining about it I just thought it was kinda strange it has the other stuff in it lol....

Actually the dxm I don't like cause I take ssri... Not good 2 mix.. I hear oxy alone might increase serotonin with ssri(yes I know supposedly it only hits opiate receptors but idk)

We experimented with different amounts... we each started at about 2-3x the therapeutic doses 1-3x daily and played around with them from there.

Unfortunately some bitch moderator pruned the thread a year or 2 ago!

Interesting.
I've been doing a DXM regimen as well as tonic water/grapefruit juice each morning 45 minutes prior to dosing.
As well as dosing DXM again later in the day.
I've noticed that my meds seem to hit harder & last longer.
As an experiment I tried a day or 2 without the DXM / drink combo.
I had less effects from my meds as well as much worse w/d's the next day.
I've also tried it without the tonic/juice & just the DXM & still noticed enhanced effects as well as the duration increase & less w/d's the next days.
I'd be interested to hear more about your test if you don't mind elaborating.
Though admittedly the liver enzyme inhibition & such could contaminate the results of my experiment I'd still like to get more input.
I'd much prefer to switch from DXM to Memantine for said purposes but at this point I don't have access to Memantine.
On a side note, I've always had problems with minor tremors/shaking.
However, since beginning the NMDA regimen I've noticed a large reduction in the tremors.
Considering that some med's used for Parkinson's & such have NMDA effects this may have something to do with that effect.
Also to clarify I've been using this regimen for between a month & a month & a half.

Also of note, there's a great thread on the subject with a large amount of links to studies backing up the thread's content over in ADD.

NMDA antagonists for tolerance, a collection of the evidence and anecdotal reports

To anyone that visits the thread, please remember that it is in ADD & treat it as such if you choose to post in said thread.
There's already been far to much drama / unnecessary bullshit in ADD lately.
I'd hate to direct people there without politely asking that they read the rules there & post accordingly.
I don't want to be responsible for bringing more useless bullshit to ADD. :|
Besides that though, I really think it's a great thread & believe that anyone interested in the subject should give it a read.

I agree with this statement.
The OP should be able to find out the doses of the other med's in his compounded Oxy but as for complaining about it...
I don't see a need for that.
As Cane stated built in potentiation & mitigation of side effects sounds quite beneficial if anything.
Personally I'm quite curious as to how well these are working out for you.
I'd also like to know how well the built in stool softener works in terms of your bowel movements & constipation alleviation.
Also what stool softener are you referring to in your formulation?

I just noticed as I went to post this that you just posted that you are on a SSRI as well.
So that may be an issue with the DXM.
However, that is something you would want to bring up with your doctor/pharmacist.

Also Cane seems to have posted as well in the meantime.

When you say 2-3x the therapeutic doses 1-3 times daily would you mind posting the actual mg dosages?
Also I'm assuming that you were using the monohydrated hydrobromide salt of DXM, is this a correct assumption?

I'm greatly saddened to hear the thread was pruned.
Perhaps someone involved in the experiment saved a copy themselves?
If so that would be great, if not I guess it's a sad loss to the community. :(

Sorry if there's anything I missed in this post but I'm going to go ahead & post it before even more posts come in.
I'm gonna have to try & post faster next time. =D
But hey it's a long post so perhaps other BL'ers will understand & not hold it against me. ;)

^there were several of us contributing and we used different dosages at different intervals, hence the ranges. I apologize but its been a long time and I don't remember all the details that well so I'd rather not be posting vague recollections and guesses.

EDIT:

I had been taking opioids for years for pain but I was taking very consistent doses that hadn't changed substantially after 2+ years of use at that time. I was taking 60mg DXM Hbr TID when I was doing it but I don't think my worthless results imply much if anything to people looking to use DXM to attenuate tolerance acquisition associated with recreational use.

My tolerance wasn't rising so I was hoping that I could reduce my tolerance some so when I say it was worthless THIS is what I mean. At the time main were theorizing that it could be used to REVERSE tolerance some and not just slow the development.

I can understand that there were multiple people contributing & that you don't remember the details.
I likely wouldn't remember either unless I had recorded them.
Regardless of your feeling that they are "worthless results" I appreciate you posting your information regarding them.
Any information I can garner on the subject regardless of the ambiguity is helpful none the less.
So thanks for taking the time to clarify. :)

^we haven't had this discussed for a while... why not start a thread on it? I think we cold get some good replies.

That's a good idea, put together a test group with controls and whatnot and conduct an experiment with recorded results to find a definitive answer. And not have it pruned this time... That really sucks like hardcore. Aren't you supposed to check a thread for valuable content before pruning, even if it hasn't been bumped by someone to save it?

Tolerance to what? Opiates? I've experimented with DXM to prevent methamphetamine tolerance and was a little shocked at how well it worked. That obviously doesn't mean the same results will follow with a completely different class of drug of course.

^yeah, opioids.

It wasn't as formal as your description made it sound but I think it had some useful discussion.

In theory, at least now, we try to salvage all the good threads but we can't go back and re-read every single thread that's been posted. We rely on post counts, # of views, titles, author and other information to expedite the process. Certainly sometimes threads will slip through the cracks.
