"Club kids" (Michael Alig, 'Party Monster') New York Old School Club Scene thread

Apparently Michael was denied parole today, according to wikipedia. His next hearing will be in 2010, and with a maximum sentence date of 2016, assuming he doesnt commit any more crimes while in prison.

Well there goes my plans for the next 10 years! I guess he'll be fashionable in drag when he re-emerges in his 50's.

Are you in the club scene?

Has anyone ever read disco blood bath or watched party monster??? The club kid scene seemed like a intense party scene. I dnt no how Michael Alig and James St. James are alive with all the mass quantities of drugs they did. Anyone here a club kid or experiecned that kind of scene they were in?
 
are you asking if people are in the club scene?
im going to change up the title a bit so its a bit more to the point ;)
 
Rave scene, i recently attended a more burner event and enjoyed it.....

I would think more people in the rave/burner scene eat more drugs than clubbers....

Clubbers might eat some E every now and then and drink some.....

but its only at a rave/festival when you can ask what someone took and they give you a short list of psychedelic substances ingested over the course of the day.... friend came up to me and was like "i took 2 hits of acid, 2 really bomb rolls, a few research chemicals and some molly since the sun went down" and then he ran off and smoked some DMT.... I don't know how he was still coherent and standing.... even funnier that he said he felt great the next day...
 
Rave scene. Club scene. Was never a club kid. Was around for the Soundfactory days.
 
i love party monster! i pretty much lived the same way these kids did for like 5 years of my life...and crashed and burned with heroin,very much like Alig did but without killing anybody ;)

I talked to James St. James a few times through email and once on the phone. He's an amazing person! Funny and witty as hell! :)
 
it seems michael alig has been refused parole yet again according to his official blog the facility he is in was all for his realease but albany refused it does seem rather odd they have kept him so long as his co accused freeze has been paroled a while now seems he will be in another year at least the only possible good news is that he might get transfered to a medium risk facility rather than stay were he is now

Lol, afterglow at full-force.

I wouldn't label people as clubbers or ravers, or whatever, mainly because I don't like labels in general ;) But also because theres always exceptions and theres clubbers who are massive druggies, ravers who are straight-edge and sober festival goers. And every combination inbetween, while some scenes have certainly more drugs. The individuals you can meet will be very variable often.

The type of music tends to set the tone for the types of drugs most people are indulging in, which I find interesting, though it's obvious I guess.
 
i remember that. i saw it on american justice. that was fucking gnarly, but for some reason, i couldnt help but like him. hes one of those guys you just kind of automatically like off the bat. aside from the fact that he dismembered somebody, hes just a likeable guy.
