The pits of hell
I am having a problem with my Opana. I take it twice a day. Every 12 hours. I am finding it doesn't last the entire 12 hours. More like 8 or so at most. I am gonna tell my dr about it and I know some people get Opana three times a day. Any advice on how to make it last longer. I see my dr soon and I am going to bring this to his attention. I wake up in the morning quite early in the beginning of WDs and it fucking sucks. I dont want to say *that* to my dr. But, I can tell when it wears off cause I start getting cold and hot sweats ect... Does anyone else have this problem?

Snorting them (if you don't already) would be my advise also. Rather than saying you start WD's just say the pain returns before it's time for your next dose. Maybe he'll give you dilaudid or something for breakthrough pain or increase your opana to TID.

Dont doctors give out oxycontins anymore? I know they have the new formulation but still, I would think they are useful.

I do snort them because it seems to stay with me longer. That's the issue I am having. I am gonna talk to my dr about a third pill a day to avoid this... Thanks all :)

I get roxicodone for BT pain 4-5 times a day. He tried dilaudid but it fucking sucks unless you're an IV user.

Sounds like you should give your tolerance a break and sweat it out a little bit instead of just pushing for higher doses because other people have them. How long have you been taking opiates for chronic pain, and have you ever considered trying to taper a bit? And what is your pain level at with the opes and when you wake up in minor w/d? And im not sure what kind of pain you have but i'd be interested to know. Sounds like you have a good doc btw. If you've been on this dose for a while it'd be fine to up the dose, but if it hasn't been long, your doc might start getting suspicious. Not stabilizing on a dose and continuously wanting higher doses is what they're looking for these days. I know it sucks not being comfortable all the time but it may be worth it in the long run.

I have tapered that's the issue. I take less than I am prescribed. I am halfing my opana dose and I save the rest for recreation... I get high twice a week sometimes less. I have cut wayyy back. I have been in pain management for over a year now. I have discs collapsing on eachother, degenerative disc disease, scholiosis in the neck and lumbar spine, osteoarthritis... the list goes on. Nerve damage.. I am doing the best I can and trying to use the least amount of medication I can. He had put me on Opana 40's upping me from 20's.. I requested to be put on 30's as I don't want to go that high on the medication due to my age. I spoke with him today he said he will most likely add a third opana to my daily regimen but then I will just dose 3 times a day instead of 2 and it should solve this issue. My dr is pretty cool actually, I just switched to him. At first he was a bit suspicious but now he is straight up. My current goal is to get back to ground zero with my tolerance but I am doing it slowly so I don't WD and have more serious pain. I have a 3 year old to chase around as well. So it's pretty tough. My general goal is to keep the meds he is scripting me, take less than prescribed and to build a nest egg for emergencies and such. I also have fibromyalgia so sometimes I get ridiculous pain flare ups.

My pain level when I wake up is at a 7+ when the medication is working well it's down to a 3 or so which is reasonable to me. I don't expect it all to go away but I think a 2-4 is reasonable. Being at 7-8 is harsh and it's hard. I do pretty well for the amount of medication I get. I hit a rough patch where I was using to much but I have calmed down from that. Now it's just the way the opana is working...
