Hey everyone, start off by saying sorry mods if this is inappropriate, but now more than ever do I feel the urgency to get this message across.

Just received news of an old school mate who passed away on Sunday. He died from an allergic reaction from a pill that he consumed. I understand that most of us around these parts ate sensible, but there are still so many people who consume out of ignorance. Lots of these people are our friends, and it is partly our duty to inform them on such things. Please preach testing of pills to everyone you know in the scene, because it could happen to anyone at anytime. It is such a waste of life.

damn, condolences bro. It goes to show that now more than ever should the message of reagent testing go across. Honestly, when everyone was into pills - reagent testing was really pushed upon the people - even if not too many took it up, those of us who did helped everyone else. Even if testing back then wasn't really needed compared to today.

Sorry to hear that happened.

It is important to let people know exactly what pill your mate took so that the possibility of this happening to someone else will be reduced. Having it stated on Pillreports will also help.
 
Sorry to hear that mate, awful news. My condolences to his family. Unfortunately a testing kit may not have savd them; for all we know it could have been an allergic reaction to MDMA. This isn't really the time and place to speculate however as Verybuffed said getting a description circulating could save further lives.

My condolences to u and everyone who knew him, its very sad. Testing pills wont save lives, ive said it before and say it a million times more forget about them. Could of been anything mixed with MDxx in pill form. Just because a test comes back positive it doesnt mean its safe to consume. Hope u pull up well mate. All in all id avoid pills n wouldnt touch em with a 10 foot pole:S
 
^It is going to save lives, because most ecstacy users have taken the drug before, and thus know they're not allergic to it.

for all we know it could have been a clandestine binder. knowledge is power. I'd much rather people make an informed decision than just munch pills like they do.

Clearly people are going to take pills regardless. Advocate it all you want, abstinence is never going to catch on. I'd definitely rather people test them, even if only on the grounds that then they understand the concept that there can be anything in the pills. Still plenty of people who think anything sold as e is e, just of varying quality/etc :\
 
very sorry to hear that, my heart goes out to the family and friends close to your mate :(
moments like this when you realise how much you put on the line for a single high, although current pills are packed with all sorts still it shouldnt come near worth claiming a life.

interesting to see what it was that caused the reaction, i DO believe in test kits, but i do see where sustanon is coming from, if it were a bad chemical reaction i dont think it would have been with any substances that register on test kits, although in saying that DXM in conjunction with other chemicals is known to produce potentially fatal outcomes and PMA had also killed many of times in australia.
but i would assume even while some people test pills and they come up non-active with most test kits they still openly consume ( i have done b4, stupid = yes i know) so for some users its a lose lose situation. bottom line it is a drug scene some people arent willing to pay for something then test it and bin it with a bad reaction.

I always tell people dont consume unless tested cause chances are, mdma you dont have it!!! thats most my mates anyways, they live in a naive world.

I've done the same thing, I think my train of thought was well I'm pretty sure this is gonna be pipes (fizzed on my tongue and looked dodgey as) but I figured I'd spent [a bit] on it. Gave me one hour of fun and a few more of feeling like shit, head aches, sweats, shit come down.

From then on I've never gotten a pill at a club from a random. Especially not in the times of drought, it was a rookie mistake for sure ;)

Thats really fucked up heythatsmybike, my condolences. Once you find out what they are I'll make sure a warning is put up on pillreports.

Haven't been told of the press, but have been informed that he consumed 6 over a day. Reported that there was high levels of dxm and alcohol in his system which was declared how he died.

Definetly something to warn people on, and especially the effects of poly drug use. Know what you're taking and the consequences that may arise.

such a shame, dxm can be quite lethal, as can other substances in high doses!!
altho dxm can be found in most testers :(
do you know if this person was taking SSRI's??
 
Not if idiots start mixing DXM in with fake binders that turn black and sassafras essence.
We need real testing here. Pills are at the state where a pill tester is MOSTLY inaccurate

agree with you on that, i think australia would really benefit from having a service like the netherlands DIMS...

Never say never, something is in the wind as we speak. Not quite the same as the DIMS model, but things are looking positive in at least in one state. If it goes ahead, we should see sanctioned testing by authorised labs with results made publicly available. Stay tuned.
 
I agree. Pills are a waste of money and even MDMA ones aren't clean or even pure MDMA if it is "MDMA only". Mostly shit dirty 70% pure mdma goes to pills, there are very few exceptions.
 
I don't take pills but remember that many people's only access to or knowledge of MDMA is as pills
