Yea, going from personal experience though ive had no problems with hermies or males from GH so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, only have grown out the SLH though. Anyway who cares, there is plenty of other good seed companys, I'd say fuck feminized all together and look at TGA, they have some top notch strains.
 
I don't usually go for fems myself. I think regulars are better personally.

I think I'm going to go for Mr Nice seeds Shark Shock. 18 regular seeds for £49.99 is quite good. Here's the description:

Mr Nice Seeds Shark Shock is definitely the most successful breed of the late 90’s (since its inauguration by Shantibaba as Great White Shark).
It has equally famous genetic heritage and has been awarded a multitude of cannabis cups under the names of the Peacemaker and the Great White Shark. It's a no brainer really. I'm having difficulty in deciding which system to go for though. I might go for an aquafarm scrog, althought I haven't decided.
 
just another question on seeds...
good quality seeds these puppies, but i have the question, can you tell if your plant if male or female prior to flowering,
its quite obvious to tell the immediate difference once turned to flower but im talking like 2 weeks into veg, is there any way to tell??

i also hear of a chemical foliar spray called reverse from dutch-master which is used on homeaphrodites. i hear good things about this product.

anyways cheers :P
 
Here is a couple pics of male and female preflowers, your plants will show sex prior to flowering it just takes a close eye and knowing what to look for. Once you know what you are looking for it is easy to pick out your females and males.

Here is the garden, 7 BOG sweet cindys 30 days old from germination, 2 trainwrecks on the right and some more TW clones to the left. I still need to sex the sweet cindy so hopefully in the next few weeks ill see the pussy!

Normally you need to wait for the pre-flowers to show before you can sex your plants, which can take ages. However, you can use a technique called the 'Genefinder technique' which involves switching the lights onto 12/12 on/off for three days and then switching back to 18/6, 20/4 or whatever you're using.. After a week or so they'll start to show their male/female preflowers and you can separate the males.

The main difference between males and females is that the males are much taller than the females (usually). This is the main way I quickly separate the males from the females. It almost always is a good indicator, I find.
 
Or top your plant like you are making cuts and throw the cuts into a 12/12, it does not even need to be rooted. it will show sex withing a week and you will not disturb the light cycle of your other plants.

Well I figured out what my plants needed. Food. lol

Seems I'm back in shape so far. I got the general organics sample box. They've perked up considerably since the first feeding.

I have a question though. This plant came from some Mexican brick seed. It was a little slow starting but that was probably my fault via the environment. It looks like it was naturally "topped" though. I didn't top this plant, it grew that way. Is this normal?

It's called 'twins'. Rare but not unheard of. I've seen it plenty of times.

Looks like you got lucky!!

Low watt HPS will give you the best results if you have to choose between that and linear fluorescents or CFLs.

I'd go for 250W for it to be worth your while. That shouldn't cost much to run at all (I assume you're worried about the running costs, right?).

I would personally go for pure HPS rather than dual spectrum in your case, since the higher lumen output will reduce stretch more than the extra blue in a dual spec lamp which has a lower lumen output.

A 600W HPS, will give you the greatest efficiency of all wattages and therefore the lowest unit cost per lumen output.

The temps have dropped , but not below 60(as far as I know, It could have hit 55 when I wasn't looking but , I doubt it) in the closet, always keep fresh air in there , and my exhaust takes out the nasty air.

This isn't a nute problem is it?

(Ive been mixing big bloom with grow big twice, then I was planning on going to tiger bloom, does that sound okay?

The plants are starting to put out some pistils, smellls pretty nice when u pinch them, they all have different smells, even the purple kushes, which makes me doubt they are that, got them from two separate dispensaries. One plant is bushy as hell, and the other is just branchy , weird, anyways,

I added some micro nutes to the water today, hope that makes them a bit happy, wanted to start slow said 1/4 tsp for seedlings, so thats what I used, Ill move up a small amount if they show signs of improvements.

I'm thinking about a cfl micro grow for a first run. Money is pretty tight right now so I'm fine with a low yield. Growing is not risky legally for me so making it worth my while in that sense isn't a problem. Once I can afford it and have the space, I'm definitely going to step it up to a 600.

So my question is...they make a lot of different color fluros..IE cool white, full spectrum etc. They all have a different color temperature. I have read somewhere that vegging plants and flowering plants prefer a specific temperature (27000k, 65000k, etc.). Basically, if all I want are some cheep cfls for a ridiculous ghetto grow, what should I get?
 
I really dont know anything about color temp, but for cfls in the past ive used the 125W and 95W cfl bulbs with a batwing style hood and it works great for veg and you could bloom with them to
 
You don't need to worry about colour temperature in your case If you want to do a micro grow. If it's a truely micro grow then you can use normal 15-20W CFLs from the supermarket.
With these you only get one type. You don't get cool and warm white versions.

Otherwise if you want to use a 125W CFL you need the blue (cool white) version. A 6400k will do, although just get whatever 125W CFL is available. You honestly don't need to worry about the colour temperature. For flowering you'll need a red (warm white) CFL.

However, you will get more decent bud if you just get a mini HPS. You can get 150W HPS bulbs and ballasts quite cheaply.

Why can't you grow outside? I would wait a couple of months and grow outdoors, depending on where you live. You can start them indoors if you want, so you'll end up with monsters.

I use a blue spectrum ~64,000k T5 bulb for vegetation; it's cheap and stays cool. If you want to use the same for flower, switch it up to the red spectrum bulbs ~27,000k. They should work, but as already stated you will get a much smaller yield without HPS. An advantage to using flor/cfl instead of HPS, is HEAT; you won't have nearly as much.

Yep, I am going to take a wild guess and say it looks like a typical nitrogen deficiency. Definitely a deficiency of some sort though.
