Can I Test Without...

Yes, they wouldnt be proper tests but mdma has a certain sweet aniseed type smell and a nasty bitter taste

So does a lot of other things though - so without using a test kit you really dont know what your taking.

Smell / taste can easily be changed by a dealer.

(mind you some of the piperazine pills smell so strong you dont even need to open the bag before you know what they are :X)
 
And to add to that, some pipes pills have a small amount of MDMA to trick you. I have gotten piped based on taste before. I thought for sure they had that bitter taste that is associated with MDMA, they definitely didn't have that sour taste that is associated with pipes... not a good way to be sure. If you don't mind taking the risk, use this method, but getting piped when you planned on rolling sucks so if you want to avoid that, get a kit. Even just a Marquis. They're cheap.
 
Honestly haha, I know it's stupid & irresponsible , but my way of testing pills is just biting into them, tasting the insides, swallowing it, and seeing what the high is like.

The only exceptions of course is when I taste meth, then I spit it out. I'd never go back to that shit, even if it was just a small amount in a pill.

And this is why the scene is so bad now - people are willing to take anything as long as it gets them high.
 
I would love to see some sort of taste test experiment on this... give people some pills where the contents are known to taste and see how accurate they are. Obviously this would never happen, but it'd be interesting to see the results. I get that MDMA has a specific taste, but I think if people are a little more honest with themselves, they'd admit that chemicals all taste... well... chemically and it can be difficult to differentiate between them. And only because I know someone's going to combat this with "you're just not experienced enough, I know the taste etc." I am very experienced with MDMA, 10 years, and I have been tricked by taste.
 
There is nothing scientifically to say inactive ingredients are without taste. Tablets I've weighted have been at about 200~300mg (±1mg) which allows inactive to, literally, outweigh active chemicals. If you 'spit out' tablets you suspect are not MDxx due to the taste that's your choice however to consume them confidently because of a taste test, this is not safe.

Yes, but you need fancy expensive lab equipent like IR or GC/MS.

No, tasting/smelling pills doesn't work, I had some pipes that tasted bitter and made me gag like MDMA. I took them and thats why I got a test kit now.

Yes you could take the pill and see what happens, but if it's a high dose of PMA, you will die.
