ugh, methadone

Why is it so hard to tell what a good dose of 'done is? I have 2 10 mg methadone pills and have little to no tolerance, i'm thinking about cutting one in half and taking 5 mg is that a good dose? thanks
 
Yes, start at 5mg and wait at least two solid hours for it to kick in, methadone takes ages to kick in.

Then and only then, you can redose 5mg if the high is to low. Remember, you can always take more but never take less.

So, have you taken Methadone before? With no tolerance, I think without a doubt, you will feel 5mg.

A real problem with Methadone, is what you actually "feel," may not be what you are expecting. It is an entirely different buzz, compared to Hydro.,Oxy., ect.
It's more mellow, sedating. Even a "heavy" feeling.
So many take more and more trying to achieve what they are expecting, and then end up with too much.
Now, your not going to do that with 10mg, but I am just trying to lower your expectations. For many, Methadone is NOT the greatest buzz.

wow! im a former heroin addict of 6 years, opiate junkie on and off for 10 years. im on suboxone now for 3 years, and boy let me tell you when i take 60mg of methadone, i get high as a kite, higher then any other opiate/opioid will get me, hand down. methadone does get you high as fuck and is VERY potent, so im a huge double D BOOB!!!

lol from my understanding, methadone is an Mu-opioid receptor agonist, thus it can give you the prototypical opioid "high"-euphoria, drowsiness, etc. Don't try to tell me that a drug which is known to be a euphoriant will not get me high.

Btw, to everyone else, yes my homie told me to take 10 mg. Just 10 mg, no booster doses. But I read somewhere that 10 mg of 'done could be fatal to a non-opiate tolerant person?
 
10mg should be fine for someone thats not tolerant. Should get you pretty fucking high as well. Methadone is usually only dangerous when people with low tolerance use it day after day and it builds because of its short half-life.
 
yeah, methadone is strong, and very very euphoriant. fuck what anyone else says about that. yes. hands down. i have the feeling some people are just plain haters on this site, or hold grudges and make indirect comments towards people that reply to a thread and to they're dislike they throw indirect feminine comments out there. my two cents.

i think ya meant long half life, which yes can be fatal after it builds up after awhile to a non tolerance person
 
10mg could be fatal to someone who has never taken more than 30mgs of vicodin. Its not a get high drug. You don't fuckin get high from it. Its not a fun buzz that you think is a high. Its a nodding off fuck did I do to much type of drug when used recreationally. I'm trying to save some of your lives from ending up in er.
 
yes methadone takes quite awhile until you feel the effects, but one has to be aware of that, to avoid re-dosing and disappointment. it is used recreational quite a lot by many people , and to my 10yrs of opiate experience, the high is very enjoyable and comparable to heroin, for me methadone's duration is that of 8 hours solid high, after effects of itchiness, etc...all you non tolerant peple out there, dont take more 10mg, and be PATIENT wait atleast 2hrs to feel the effects, it wont hit you as quick as ur typical opiate/opioid

I've shot heroin and many other types of opioids, I can handle 30 mg of vicodin.
I'm going to chop a pill in half and take 5 mg to be safe.
As I've said, it is an opioid and will induce euphoria. And why the fuck would I not want to nod?
 
Yeah, that's bizarre that Bananas doesn't get high on methadone. METHADONE PRODUCES AN EXCELLENT HIGH. However, i took it daily for about a year and a half and near the end I was just chasing the dragon. The high was never anything more than nausea and nodding out - which is nice WITH euphoria - but no euphoria. Maybe that is where Bananas is coming from but damn dude, why such intense emotion. Just try to state your POV and be done with it.
 
Well, as far as I'm concerned, I'm done with the done... I mean with my little overindulgence every monday, when I take 50mg instead of my maintenance dose of 10mg.

So of course it gets me (very) high, happy and whatever, but I just can't sleep at all after that. The done makes me all hyper and alert, that's why I can't sleep. So I have to stop this.

All I'm trying to say is getting high on methadone is like getting high on ..........meph instead of ecstacy.....no actually its like this you never know if your breathings going to go shalllow. I'm on mmt and it fucking happened more than a dozen times I thought I wasn't waking up......
 
^Are you sure your dose isn't too high? You shouldn't feel like you're dying if you're on a proper maintenance dose. But it is completely incorrect (and off topic) to claim that methadone doesn't get you high.

It's not like taking meph instead of ecstasy because the goal of him taking it isn't to mimic the effects of another drug, it's to get the effects that methadone provides. He's not taking methadone instead of heroin or to try and achieve heroin's effects profile, he's trying to take methadone to get high on methadone.
