NEWS : 5.6.09 - Drug test blitz

have heard a myth that brown vinegar washed around the mouth shortly before the test is completed can hide traces of drugs, but I believe it to be that.. just a myth.

Absolutely, that would be something that should be brought up.

Does anyone know how long each drug takes to get out of the system, it would be great to have a list of how long each drug takes to leave the system.
 
wait you guys have "Roadside Drug Testing Stops" in Australia!?!? what the fuck....please tell me more about this nonsense
 
for real wtf that sucks so much ass i am always high on weed, and it stays in my system for a long time because of it. I could never drive a car in Aus. lol
 
Bluelight isn't here to help you circumvent laws. I am 100% against people driving intoxicated (whether it be on legal pharmaceuticals, alcohol, or illicits).

I can see where you're coming from with false-positives and trace amounts of drugs being identified well after the effects are gone though. Wouldn't your best option there be to demand an immediate blood test though if that were the case? I don't know if that's an option or the norm though?

There are already a few threads open on the front page about DUI and roadside drug tests. I'm going to merge this with one but please keep discussion away from "how to fool one"....

No, speedygonzales' thread and question were about how to fool a roadside drug test. I think it's safe to assume it was hence about drug driving. The only reason I merged it over here and didn't close the thread outright is because I feel the topics of false positives & trace amounts giving positive results days after the fact are worth further discussion. Sorry if you misunderstood me mate :)

I won't rehash a discussion that took place in this forum a couple of years ago but there is absolutely no place for discussion here of "how" in regards to dodging the saliva testing.

good topic, i think there are so many mixed reviews on this though!!
i have heard that cannabis only last 6 hours in the saliva so you will more than likely come up positive after that period.
as for meth i have heard coppers state that meth can last up to 4 days in the saliva and still result in a positive reaction.

Some people will metabolise drugs at different rates than others. There is no set time limit for each drug to leave your system as everyone would be different. We have been asking these questions here since the roadside testing began.
 
I'm dead against driving while intoxicated (even while stoned, which many seem to think is absolutely no problem)

It's a bit of a tricky issue with them picking up residual traces after the intoxication has worn off. They could look at the amount of drug in the bloodstream and have a certain cutoff for each drug - but variables like individual tolerance, metabolism etc. would make it really tricky if not impossible.

Some type of sobriety test would be good if you test positive but they'd probably have to be different for each drug...how do you test a meth user on their first night? They'd probably ace any standard tests.

There's an app on iphone called 'trapster' which shows a map and lets people report enforcement points along with speed cameras etc...not something you'd want to rely on but could be useful for those of you sober enough to drive but with trace amounts in their body.

I don't think anyone on meth (being actually affected at the time that is) would pass a standard alcohol sobriety test. Doing the alphabet backwards, walking in a straight line, holding a leg up etc. I don't think someone on stimulants may be able to pass all of those tests. *edit* Btw, I've been taking stimulants, sometimes on a daily/weekly basis and/or friends involved doing it for over 20 years. From stuff I've seen first hand, someone "high" on meth, in my opinion, would be hard pressed to pass an alcohol sobriety test 'properly'

i mean shit, hypothetically if i was drug tested and highly under the influence of mdma, id be asking the police man for a hug and definately not passing the test.
 
Is there a document on the new ER blood test policy? I've tried searching the net but haven't been able to find anything on it. I need to know for my partners case.

Also with THC being able to be found in your system for up to 2 weeks with frequent use are they able to charge you with driving with the prescence of a drug?

Just a heads up for anyone in Adelaide.


Drug testing will be done on quite an intense scale over the next few days and over the new year...if you've been using drugs please don't drive. Police will be using different locations than usual with a focus on catching people by surprise. Lots more officers at each drink/drug testing point and they'll be keeping a close eye for anyone who tries to avoid the testing station (watching out for people that turn around, plain clothes police and cars doing surveillance down the road before the station etc.)

No doubt they'll catch a heap of people and we'll hear about it in the news. Be careful guys and if you're not 100% sure you're clean avoid driving.
 
I read an article in the herald sun (poor source i know) a week or so ago stating that many high-way patrol cars would be fitted with mobile drug testing kits in 2011, this will mean that many country areas etc will be subject to much more rigorous random drug-testing.

Be careful everyone.
