I'm one of those people that actually prefers hydrocodone over oxycodone. Oxy just makes me want to lay down and do nothing, while hydro makes me energetic and social. Hydro also does a much better job of relieving my chronic pain when comparing on a mg to mg basis.
Something I've always wondered though is why are there no hydro equivalents to meds such as Roxicodone and Oxycontin? Given that oxycodone is generally considered the stronger of the two, I'm curious why it has these stronger/non-apap containing solutions, but hydrocodone has nothing of the sort?
I've also heard that there are compounding pharmacies out there that will create these stronger hydro solutions, but how common are those? I've never heard of anyone being prescribed something like this so I was wondering how you'd go about it? I would like to stay on hydrocodone, but I'd prefer to do it without the APAP.
